I agree that this may turn into a net positive for Kerry because it will show the left how he's not going to take it anymore. As for the right, they already cannot hate him more--so no loss there.

This will be gone by the end of the week. It will have no effect on our chances. The narrative post-election will be that the Republicans attempted to use this in a last-ditch effort to stem the tide, and it failed. After The Announcement, it'll come up again briefly, inevitably, but it will be discussed without the cloud of the election hanging over everything, and then it'll be finished.

Bank on it.

JK's handled it with finesse. It will be seen as part of a pre-election last minute partisan GOP attack machine, with JK remembered as having stood up to them. He's amazing.
