OT: The new times thread viewed counter |

on the right hand side of the screen is not at all helpful to those of me with self-esteem issues. It is interesting though to try to figure out what draws people's attention to certain threads.

I always read your stuff.
Ahm, these counters might just prove to be counter-productive. (Couldn't help myself, beg your pardon.)

3. I agree--I don't need the sense of competition it brings. |

Some posts are good for just reading, and don't require a comment, because it would only be something like, "Yup, I agree 100%". So please don't feel bad if people look but don't reply. Everybody's voice here contributes to a mighty fine group, IMO. Cozy, warm and inviting!
I click on and read 99% of the posts in this forum. The only ones I don't read are posts to specific people about something local, like, "who's going to Boston?" etc.
I've noticed that even if a post gets no replies, there are about 26-29 views usually. That's nice to see--that means there is a core group that reads everything like I do.
