I apologize on behalf of my Governor
It is not my intent to use this site to vent my anger all the time, but my Governor (dino) really made me angry last night and it is on the front page of our leading newspaper. He is ahead of his republican opponent by triple digits, due to a strong economy. In Oklahoma when gas prices go up we benefit greatly and right now the State government has more money to spend that it can keep up with. But when asked about Sen. Kerry's remarks, our spineless Governor stated that he was very angry and upset that Kerry would insult our troops. He could have defended him by stating that it was a botched joke and that he had apologized but instead he blasted him. We have a very, very large military presence in Oklahoma, so that makes it even worse. I have called his office and the State Democrat Campaign office and intend to write a letter to the editor, but in Oklahoma it will bring a thousand negative responses. Sorry to vent like this, but there are so few of us here that at times it gets very frustrating.

1. I admire your courage to be Dem in Oklahoma
Feel free to steal from the main point of my LTE or Thomas Friedman's op-ed that this condemnation of Kerry is just a trivial matter in comparison to the awful war in Iraq.

2. Thanks!
Thanks for allowing me to steal. I accept the offer. It is very strange in Oklahoma. We have almost all State offices held by Democrats and a Democrat State Senate (just barely) but we always vote for Republicans for national office. Of course almost all of the Democrats who hold office are more Republican than true Democrats. But the few of us that are here keep fighting and will never stop.

3. Oh, please don't worry about this.

I understand about having bad Governors. My current (and soon to be ex-Governor) is running around the country pretending he can run for President. (I sometimes get a bit, ahm, hard-to-take, and GlobalVillage's role in this forum whenever I get all puffed up with pride over a certain home state Sen, is to whisper 'Romney' in my ear and deflate me. It works rather well and I dare say that GV and I have a nice arranemgent on this.)

I admire the Democrats who are still there, still working, and still so full of hope in all the Southern States and all the MidWest States and Western States that went for Bush. I can't imagine that it is easy for you in Oklahoma. I have no right to say anything to you, compared to what you have to put up with, I have it on the easiest of easy streets. All I can say is thanks for being there and thanks for being a model for me to look up to. I mean that.

There are so many people on this board who get up and do this again and again and again against overwhelming odds and against a 'red tide' that they haven't yet overtaken. The amount of courage and sheer gumption that it takes to do that humbles me and I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to read about.

Sorry, don't apologize. Instead, remind me of this later on and tell me how I can help you. You great people who hold the faith in Oklahoma are some of the best Patriots I know.

5. I appreciate the words of encouragement.
Would you like to know what really gives me a great boost--your wonderful picture threads on Friday night. I absolutely love them. I would give anything (except being close to my grandchildren) to live where there are people like me, and especially where there is a certain Senator likes yours. Actually, both of your senators are great. I certainly agree about your governor. If he runs for president he will not do well in Oklahoma in a primary because he is a Morman and believe it or not, he would be considered too "liberal" for them. When I say the people here are right-wing, I mean they are so far right they are about to fall over the edge. Anyway, I appreciate the encouragement.

7. mistake
I meant to say I would like to live where there are other people who share my beliefs. What I said didn't sound right. Sorry about that.

4. Go to john Kerry.com, the speech is up with the original wording,
copy it and send it to your governor. Obviously, he is out of touch with the reality of the situation.
I think we have a duty to set the record straight.
