Brokaw on MSNBC said Jim Webb was ticked off when Senator |

Kerry won the nod in '04. Does anyone know why that might be? And then there's Norah, who chimed in claiming Kerry's blooper foiled Ford's chances in TN, though I didn't listen to her warped reasoning. :eyes: I do think she was shot down with that thinking.

1. He has been bashing Kerry of late |
|
What's up with him? I gave up on him when he dissed Al Sharpton for "somehow finding his way up there" onstage during at the end of Kerry's acceptance speech at the DNC in 04.

2. NBC will not stop. And yes, Webb has issues with Kerry and his VietNam position. |
|
Nothing new, and nothing that prevented Kerry to work with him.
As for Ford, he was down in the polls way before.

4. So Webb thought we should have 'stayed the course' in VN? |
|
We'd probably still be there if that had happened.
And I know about Ford; it's her way of dredging it up yet again.

6. They have a difference of opinion on Vietnam |
|
But in the New Yorker article, after 9/11, Webb vowed he would leave his bitterness behind about Vietnam. And, little by little, he has.

a Republican then! He must have learned that criticizing the war and pointing to atrocities like Abu Ghraib are not the same as criticizing the troops!

5. Right -- that was 2004, when Webb STILL wouldn't shake his hand |
|
but held his nose and voted for him. I think Webb thinks a little bit differently now. Webb values loyalty above all else. He knows what Kerry did for him. His response to the botched joke proved he's not going to stab someone who helped him in the back. That doesn't mean they won't have differences on the Senate floor (hmmm -- am I jumping the gun?), but he's not going to go after Kerry the way he did before.

3. I hope Kerry comes out swinging on the Repug Lie Machine after the election |

Norah is a card carrying member of the Karl Rove Flying Monkey Brigade. This crap of the media blaming Dems for the bs shoveled by Repugs has got to stop.

8. The MSM is dead to me. |

I have another tact against them -- encourage people to get more info from favorite blogs on the internet, or rely on me (:)) to supply them with info. There is no dealing with the traitors in the MSM. People should just stop listening to them.

9. The Brokaw comment, although true, is rather strange |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 06:00 PM by karynnj
In 2004, Webb had almost no history as a Democrat. He had given money to Allen in 00 and probably voted for Bush.
He had refused to shake Kerry's hand for decades. The question is why would someone with no history in the party have any say over who the candidate was. What is more significant is that in 06, Kerry ignored Webb's animousity and endorsed him and raised money for him - possibly being responsible for giving him his nomination.

to Russert's production team to bash Kerry.
This commentary is all about Hillary in 2008. Trust me.
