8. Webb!
At least, until the recounts, lawsuits, etc start.

Allen was grinning like a jack-o-lantern, but the smile was strained.

11. From all the pundit chatter, it would seem Webb is in the better position
going into a recount. Besides, maybe Allen will not ask for one once the votes are certified. I understand he has to wait the whole process out then when he is declared the loser only then can he contest and ask for a recount.

12. It seems obvious, but the one thing
I picked up from the pundits that made sense was that you want to go into a recount with the lead. Webb is in pretty good shape, seems to me.

14. OH Governor, Secretary of State
Kerry contributed and/or raised money for both Strickland and Brunner. I don't even need to say how significant it is that we have a Democratic governor and a Democratic secretary of state in Ohio. It makes me feel a LOT better regarding any potential election fraud BS that the Republicans may try to pull there. This was a BIG win for the Democratic Party and for America.

and see how many new blue friends we have. Didn't THK do a lot of work on the ground in Iowa?

There are layers here we haven't even looked at yet.

16. Oh NH was an absolute ROUT for Kerry's candidates
No longer is it "the red state of the Northeast."

Iowa looks damn good too.

There is so much good news it's hard to keep it all straight! Things slip my mind while I focus on one set of victories.

Only includes House, Senate, and Governors. Webb still not called on the blog, for some reason. I guess they're only going with officially called or conceded races.

Edit: I just noticed that AZ-Sen is wrong. This blog may not be accurate!

25. It is ridiculous
I mean sure some people will say it but they sound so completely desperate and stupid right now it's just pathetic.

Sorry about Ford, by the way. I guess I can't blame you for being pessimistic at times if you live in SUCH a red state and everyone is hostile to liberals... but, just remember that the tide is turning and even if things aren't right in TN yet, everywhere else is starting to come around.

Keep the faith!

It's all good. The whole night wasn't a lost cause. We did gain a liberal (yes, a liberal :)) congressmen named Steve Cohen, who ran for Ford's old seat. Ironically, he beat Harold's brother Jake, who ran as an independent and Harold's aunt Ophelia won her race. And we did send our governor Phil Bredesen back to the governor's mansion, and congressmen (though they can be DINOs at times) back to DC.

So all in all it was good with the exception of the marriage amendment that failed badly (sigh). There's has been rumors that Harold may run for Alexander's seat in 08. If he does, things are going to have to change for sure.

24. The end of the bullshit is in sight
One thing would basically cut it off at the knees: an endorsement from Webb whenever the Announcement comes.

I am hoping that Felix DOES go ahead with a recount. It won't put him over the top, and it'll just make Webb even more of a national celebrity and party star than he is. He owes Kerry big and I can't see any reason why he wouldn't offer his support following that Announcement. That would be an incredible boost.

30. The loss can be blamed on any number of factors. The Kerry blamers
I bet have a personal agenda in mind when they blame him. Come on, the voters proved they aren't stupid. I doubt anyone was motivated to vote against a Dem (except the kool-aid drinkers)because of Kerry's bad joke.
Analise this, it really is ridiculous.

31. Anyone who wouldn't vote for a Democrat
because of what Kerry said, probably never intended to vote Democratic in the first place. My guess with Tammy Duckworth is that it was the robocalls her opponent made in the last few days of the campaign that made the difference. Dirty, slimy Republican politics are to blame IMO.

32. Wasn't she in a conservative Republican district?
That is a big factor. If you're in a very red district, it's just tough to win even in the best of circumstances. In my district's case, our guy didn't make a good enough case for change.

Supposedly she did better than any prior candidate.

(CAUTION - FROM A DU thread and I didn't see a link)The VFW endorsed her opponent. On another thread the VFW claimed she didn't fill out their survey.

34. Henry Hyde's district
She did incredibly well. I don't know anything about the district specifically, but any district that would send Hyde to DC over and over, well, ick! They even sent him back after the impeachment, even thought 60% of the country didn't even want it. And they still send Republicans.

35. Exact numbers aside, why is it NO ONE in the media mentions how MUCH Kerry
contributed, raised funds, and campaigned for the wave of winning Dems last week?. Many other names are mentioned as "causing" the Dem victory, but NOT ONE mention of JK's enormous successful efforts in the victory. The obvious "overlook" is quite disappointing.

36. harry mitchell (AZ) won, but Hayworth won't concede
This is for 5th Congressional District in AZ, basically southern/eastern suburbs of Phoenix (Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, etc) .That thug Hayworth is insisting that all provisional and absentee ballots be counted (or recounted?) After 6 days of c ounting/recounting since the election, Mitchell is still ahead by about 6000 votes.

Seehttp://www.azcongresswatch.com/ , "Ballot Watch: Harry still totally winning"
