Repeat the mantra: Senator Webb and Senator Tester
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/8/81710/4520

The diarist has an excellent point. We need to declare victory before the recount. The perception should be that we've already won, and all that's left is the formality of a recount. Fedup -- make sure that those 2 flipped Allen votes get corrected -- EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

But we've won these races and the Senate. Time to play hardball if Barfbag tries to play any shenanigans.

1. Webb declared last night, I watched it. The media won't recognize it
though, that is the problem. If you win by 100 votes, it is still a win- contested or not.
The media doesn't want to give us our due, they should declare we have taken back the senate too.

4. The media is utterly disgusting
If the tables were turned, then without a doubt, they'd be calling on Webb and Tester to concede.

However, it is NICE to be UP before going into possible recounts. If there are recounts, we need lawyers and observers in every single place where ballots are handled. With video cameras, if it is legal.

That said, at this point I doubt MT will be recounted. I think Tester will keep the lead he needs and Burns will be forced to concede. MT law provides for recounts only if the margin is 1% or less. Currently it's 1.5-1.6%.

2. Tester will, as soon as he can
They had to recount Billings, and just finished. They have some provisionals and 600 or so votes in one last county. It's possible it could give Burns the election, not likely, but possible. He won't be bashful about claiming victory as soon as he can.

3. Montana is a lot closer than I expected it to be
but there is no way Tester won't keep the lead. There are just not enough votes out there for Burns realistically to have a chance.

I agree -- Tester needs to seize the narrative on this. Allen already looks like a loser and Burns needs to look like one as well.

5. 3% to the Libertarian
That's embarrassing to anybody who actually saw the nutball during the debate. 3% of the population of Montana voted for that guy. lol. Maybe that's where some of Tester's anti-Washington votes went. I don't know. It's a lot closer than I thought it would be too. I don't think there's enough votes for Burns to win either. I also think Burns threw a hissy-fit and got Billings to recount behind the scenes. I've never heard of a whole county losing its count.

6. Burns is PATHETIC
I wouldn't be surprised if Allen concedes before he does. He has said he has no plans to concede anytime soon because of 21,000 alleged absentee ballots -- um, the ones that were counted last night, I understand it.

I triple dare him to contest it.

8. He really is
He talked to my son's senior class and he says they all just bust up laughing after he left. They could not believe their parents had elected somebody so stupid to the Senate. I just have no explanation for him being elected time and again. None at all. Compare him to Schweitzer and Tester, to historic figures like Jeanette Rankin. I don't get it at all.

:headbang:

Wow! Sen. Kerry is the luckiest guy in the Senate to have you good people with him. And I mean that from the bottom of my Massholey heart.

10. Tester declares victory -- 3000 vote lead, 900 left to count
It's over.

Now the only undecided Senate race is to see if psycho Burns or scumball Allen concedes first.

12. Woohoo!
:woohoo:

Burns and Allen. So the Republican's last chance comes down to a comedy duo from the 40's? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Did I mention? :woohoo:
