Since DC races don't matter at all, I've been volunteering for Webb since June and it feels SO GOOD right now. Don't get me wrong, the work I did was nothing compared to his campaign staff. Even though they had a little help from the George Allen camp, they deserve a lot of credit for bringing this one home.

Even a week and a half ago, NO ONE was predicting this.

Beachmom and Fedup, you helped do this! I can't imagine how great it must be to realize that you played a part in this race that literally changed the Congress.

As to Kerry, his unbelievable grace in putting the country and the party ahead of himself in backing a man who was contemptuous of him for decades can not be overstated. I hope that Webb, having contact in the Senate with Kerry, begins to realize the true character Kerry has. (I still remember when Kerry (on KG's blog) signaled he would be backing the man we all hated because of his anti- Kerry and anti- Vietnam protesters stances.
