Kerry Statement on the Passing of Ed Bradley
This is sad news.

Washington, DC—Senator John Kerry today released the following statement on the passing of Ed Bradley.

“Ed Bradley had a relentless commitment to uncovering the truth. He could spot a phony a mile away. Ed was too busy living, fighting, and reporting to ever write a memoir. Instead, his journalistic record speaks for the quality of his character.

“He broke the color barrier as CBS News White House Correspondent and joined Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite on the short list of America’s all-time great broadcast journalists, but he never boasted about any of it. He covered Vietnam, had a deep personal connection with the troops on the frontlines, was wounded and still returned to his assignment – and never bragged about his exploits. He was tough and honest, respected by those he covered and beloved by the American people. This man was a quiet giant in journalism.”

2. He will.
He had a wonderful presence on camera - calm and authoritative. I always enjoyed watching his pieces.

3. Very Sad!
Sixty-five is relatively young! I hope a few up-and-coming journalists would emulate Ed Bradley!

RIP!

4. this is very sad, Bradley was one of the few good ones left out there
the media gets worse as all the good ones either pass away, retire, or lose their jobs.

i love Kerry's statement.
