That DOES it!! Here's my rant at someone who thinks Kerry should STFU.

This jerk thinks Kerry can only do his job through written statements. This goes beyond '08 -- some of these jerks want a "silent" senator. How do you folks in Massachusetts feel about that? Here's my response:

Um, he'll be chairman of a committee (0 / 0)

which will require intellect and an ability to ask the tough questions. That will be "off the cuff". Your picking on him above the others is way off base. He was not the first to make a gaffe, nor will he be the last. And, certainly, his constituents in Mass. don't want to have a "silent" senator who can only communicate via written statements.

This thing is getting out of hand if one of the great progressive voices in the Senate is being ordered by someone on a liberal blog to STFU. Maybe he should have STFU when it came to speaking out against Vietnam. Maybe he should have STFU when he uncovered government corruption that led to the Iran/Contra scandal. Maybe he should have STFU when he further unearthed corruption at the crooked bank BCCI which funded drug dealers and terrorists -- oh, that's right -- he WAS told to STFU, but he decided the people's business was more important than the DC Establishment. Maybe he should have STFU when he took on the thankless job of POW/MIAs in Vietnam which led to the normalization of relations with Vietnam. Maybe he should have STFU when it came to protecting the wetlands off the coast of Louisiana back in 1991. Maybe he should have STFU when he uncovered drugrunning by the CIA in the '90s. Maybe he should have STFU when he voted AGAINST the Defense of Marriage Act bill, because he knew it was a hate law targeting gays. Maybe he should have STFU when Bush outsourced to Afghan warlords the extremely important job of catching bin Laden, who subsequently escaped and is still at large. Maybe he should have STFU when he told everyone in the 2004 campaign that Bush was going to try to privatize social security, continue to make a mess of Iraq (which he called in 2004 the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place), continue to deprive Americans of health insurance, and ignore the REAL war on terror in Afghanistan and in the main way to fight it -- through intelligence gathering and law enforcement. Maybe he should have STFU this year, when he said the Iraq War was IMMORAL, and he wasn't going to BE a United States senator who added one more name to the memorial that will be erected for this disgraceful war. Sorry, that gaffe does NOT erase a lifetime of service to this country. Not one iota. And you should know better than just shooting off your mouth on the basis of what CNN and the rest of the corporate media think is "important".

4. Well, I took a little break, and I find I already have fire in my belly again
I can't STAND the leadership in the Senate, and what does that motherf***er Lieberman think he's doing? So here we have an ally in the Senate, and gosh darnit, I'm not taking the dissing of him anymore. He needs to be BUILT UP by the blogosphere NOW. And they don't even have to support him in '08 -- we need his leadership NOW in the Senate. When will these idiots figure this out? The anti-war caucus has grown but it's still pretty small compared to the "let's just start a redeployment, but really -- let's just wait for Baker to tell us what to do" caucus. I thought these people on dKos and elsewhere want our troops OUT!! Well, if they do, then they better start showing some love to the people on their side, or it's going to go nowhere.

6. good response--recommended
I don't think that person is in the majority--all the more reason to give him/her a slapdown. Or in other words, a "STFU" :)
