OT: Webb and Economic Fairness in the WSJ (Wow!)
http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110009246

Last paragraph:

With this new Congress, and heading into an important presidential election in 2008, American workers have a chance to be heard in ways that have eluded them for more than a decade. Nothing is more important for the health of our society than to grant them the validity of their concerns. And our government leaders have no greater duty than to confront the growing unfairness in this age of globalization.

Although Edwards may be the obvious person, his vision is not even close to Webb's broad pen. Hmmmm . . . . whose ideas will interest Webb going into '08?

2. I was wrong about Webb
He continues to surprise me. This is a great op-ed and he clearly gets what is happening with working people. I love love love that he repudiates trickle down specifically, and targets the last 25 years which means Reagan. Between this and the military stuff, woohoo! He's even pro-choice!

Thank You Virginia!!!!

4. Wow! Just imagine the Dem Caucus when they try to browbeat this guy
Something tells me, Senator-elect Webb is his own man and will stay that way.

Wow! This is great stuff. January can't come fast enough to have this guy replace Barfie.

6. Great OP/ED from Webb
He really got to the heart of class division and the "ever widening chasm between the rich and the poor." I'm impressed - http://blog.thedemocraticdaily.com/?p=4762

I hope we hear more like this from him.

7. i can see why JK endorsed him now
i was really uncomfortable with it and wasn't sure about him even after he won the Primary. but towards the end of the campaign with Allen and how he dealt with attacks and the things he has to say about the issues, i really like him.

i knew i would like Sanders and Brown but looks like someone else to look forward to.

and the Kerry endorsement makes more sense to me now.

8. Did you see Paul Krugman's column about the new populists?
And Webb certainly is one. He contrasts them with the phoney populists in the GOP who cater to the elites but pose as candidates-of-the-people (think Macaca Allen).
