Estrich's perverse logic:

Some Reasons to Be Thankful, D.C. Style

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

By Susan Estrich

Snip...

Then there’s the war.

In a perverse way, it’s almost lucky George Bush is president and the Democrats control Congress. If John Kerry had won the election two years ago, things would still have gone downhill in Iraq, but there’d be no one very convenient to blame for it.

Kerry would say it wasn’t his fault, Bush would be long gone, and who would hold hearings attacking whom? Democrats would be, already, on their way out, instead of in; Republicans would be going nowhere, and the war would almost certainly not be going any better.

This way, think of all those hearings we have to look forward to.

Notice this is missing from her credits at the end of the article: The Case for Hillary Clinton.

1. What a disgustingly cold thing to write

Iraq is in the midst of massive suffering. And Susan Estrich thinks that politically, it's a good thing that the Dems and John Kerry are not in charge because they would be blamed for it.

What an utterly soulless thing to say. This woman, almost single-handedly, ran the Dukakis campaign in '88 into the ground. She is a piss-poor coordinator and couldn't manage a flea circus, nevermind a political campaign. And she thinks that it's a good thing that Dems aren't in charge in Iraq because then that pesky dying and getting maimed and stuff might be blamed on us.

What a petty little douchebag. Think of how low and despicable that article is. I am so glad that Estrich is not anywhere near John Kerry. I wouldn't want her anywhere near decent people, her misshapen and warped views would only corrupt those around her.

What a first-class, self-important, principle and moral free idiot.

2. I agree - this is despicable and shows she could care less
about the suffering of the Iraqis or out soldiers - unless she honestly believes that John Kerry wouldn't have worked harder and better to solve the war. (She also ignores that even with Bush in, McCain seems to being setting things up to claim that we lost because Bush et all joined the Dems in cutting and running.

8. Let's add Katrina to the mix. NO DOUBT in my mind, that had
Kerry been president, the casulty figures from that hurricane would have been considerably less. Iraq -- I'm really not so sure because the major mistakes were made in 2003. Maybe Kerry would have delayed the election which was foolishly held in January 2005, which the Sunnis boycotted (because of Fallujah, which was destroyed 2 months before), which was an absolute disaster since the Constitution was written essentially without the Sunnis. The Interior Ministry started their Death Squads in 2005, as there was no opposition to watchdog the place.

I wonder when people are going to realize that holding the election in January 2005 was a major mistake?

10. I wonder if Bush would have pushed the date up before
Kerry were innaugerated. He would then ba able to claim it as an accomplishment - then Kerry botched the later steps up. (I think it would have been hard for Kerry as his first official action almost to delay the election. Like you, I think he would have and it would have likely been done with an honest discussion with the country explaining why.

I hadn't thought of it - but you are right that it was a mistake to have the election then. (In spite of all the ink stained fingers whooplah. I remember that Kerry was criticized for not being jubilant and speaking of how there were many other things needed.)

To think that this woman has a voice "representing" the Democratic Party makes me ill.
