Kerry Leads Democratic Field
Here's one survey in which John Kerry has a strong lead among Democrats--blog posts. While not predictive of the 2008 winner, neither are the major polls which at this point are primarily tests of name recognition and mainstream media hype.

1. what are the number of posts for McCain and Giuliani ?
what this says to me is that Kerry has some loyal supporters. Howard Dean had similar also.we know this isn't enough to win an election. but i think it would help in terms of the people who are willing to do the hard work for the candidates they support.

contrast that with the support that Lieberman had in early polls which was mostly name recognition and almost none of it was from true loyal supporters who would stick with him through the tough times and do the hard work. they easily would move on to whoever else got the most positive mention in the media.

what this also says to me is that Republican support is mostly based on ignorance. with people listening to talk radio, whore media etc and just parroting their crap. no thinking for themselves. not much discussion about their candidates and party on the internet. most of their discussion involves bashing the evil liberals.

2. I would be more impressed if
the analysis were over a longer period of time. In November, there were many posts on John Kerry that were not positive because of the joke. I know from prior posts on number of people who google potential candidates that Kerry has been high or leading - that and the fact that the Johnkerry blog seemed to be moreactive from the time it started - compared to others I looked at.

What will be interesting is to see what happens to Kerry's blog post numbers in January and February. (December can be seen as transition.

I think that Kerry does need some time to recover from this - in a sane world, it would have been ignored or a most an embarrassing off moment, KG and Yvonne who were there and posted before the blow up, didn't even see a problem. Once Kerry is back out on talk shows, he will be seen for the intelligent sincere person he is.

3. Thanks. Its good to see there is interest in Senator Kerry.
Maybe good, maybe bad, but at least he is recognized by name. After 04, many pundits thought he wouldn't be able to maintain any recognition and it would be hard from him not to fade away- well guess what, they were wrong!
