1. Thanks for the perspective, BLM |

What is going on around here (and elsewhere) lately? The attacks on Kerry have become vicious and the effort to take him down has been stepped up to incredible proportions. I'm getting so angry and frustrated at people and the media.

2. Establishment Dems who are media darlings targetted Kerry because of this |
|
focus group, and his withdrawal plan endangered campaigns like Lieberman's. They have joined in with the VRWC propagandists in the corpmedia to push against Kerry and they will use THEIR influenece in the media to make it happen.
The push against Dean is making it clearer for others what has been happening to Kerry.

I agree with you. The attacks are getting venomous each day. It is ugly here, elsewhere and in the media. It makes me mad. Very mad.
Can we just end this immoral war, then focus on 08? :grr:

4. I agree. Sen. Kerry was making traction |
|
with his ten point plan on what to do after the Dems take control of Congress and in his very strong support for a timetable for a withdrawal from Iraq. There are a lot of vested interests in the Dem Party and the media who do NOT want to see him get any credit for this. So, they are playing nasty to take him out now. They do not want him to be seen as a credible voice on policy and do not want to have to credit him, especially on Iraq, for his strong policy positions.
I have already seen Hillary Clinton and then John Kerry speak to a progressive group in DC. No contest. Kerry owned that room after his speech at TBA.

and another time the party and the netroots just stood by and let it happen. The Bushies know who has the ability to rally people against them. It sure isn't Hillary.

But very few people put up the kind of sustained fight that was there for Murtha and others. Republicans know they can still get away with this kind of politics, if they just hit hard, fast, and keep hitting. For those on the right, the lie has become the truth and Rangel's statements have just given them more ammunition. For the anti-Kerry contingent, it's more "proof" that he's gaffe-prone, which is ludicrous when his gaffe's are put up against anybody elses. If it hadn't been for Hillary's sabatoge, we'd probably be hearing that he didn't fight back effectively too. Some people just don't learn.
