OMG! The Herald gets it right! |
|
But not the headline writer. We never mentioned '08. Sigh! (Two steps forward, one step back. At least we are still moving forward.) http://news.bostonherald.com/localPolitics/view.bg?articleid=171750

1. great!congratulations! |

I think the writer also garbled the Kennedy reference, but JK's quote (a really nice reminder of all he's been doing, and the bravery it's taken to fight those fights), and YOUR quote, plus the general explanation of the Kerry log supporters, was terrific!! And, for the Herald, is't astonishing.

2. Awesome!! Hey, everyone rate up the article. |
|
I just did, and it went from two stars to three stars, but let's get it to five stars if we can.
Um, Tay Tay -- you TOTALLY rock!! Great quote, and a great article.
(The Kennedy quote is BS. If I send this article around, I will probably preface it with that fact.)

3. Great! Wow, you are famous and so is DU. |
|
I wasn't to thrilled about the way they worded the Kennedy issue. It made it sound like he may not support him even if he decides to run. But, then again, it is the Herald.

4. Oh please, I am not going to become famous any time soon |
|
Not with my record of talking about the 'friggin bastids.'
But it was nice to be able to help out.
It was doubly nice after hanging out with so many incredible people over the weekend. You guys were an honor to 'cat-herd' around. It was a pleasure.

Hey, my daughter loved it all and so did I. Maybe though, if there is a next time, I will be able to utter something coherent. The Senator renders me speechless all the time. LOL

And not a bad article, esp. for the Herald - except for the Kennedy thing, as everyone else has said.

7. I don't know if the Kenney statement was accurate, but |
|
I think Senator Kerry needs to keep doing the work of the people and leave the campaigning alone for a while. I think the media doesn't need more time to smear the man. And when people see he's fighting for us, then it shows so much more integrity than campaigning for two years. (I just really don't think we need these LOOOOOOOOOOONG ENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDLLLLLLEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS campaigns.)

Good job! I think the Presidential stuff is okay, it's good to have it reported that he has real support around the country. You guys should probably put out your own press release, with pics, and we can all email it to our own media contacts. Maybe they'd start getting a clue.

Was keeping the Boston Herald in line easier or harder than cat hearding. You did an amazing job at both.

You did a great job and I love Kerry's statement - that is so nice and it is what we've tried to do.
Wouldn't you think writers would understand english - they write the Kennedy comment as if he is thinking of endorsing someone else - where he just said he MIGHT not wait for Kerry if he waits forever.

12. How come when I google John Kerry this article isn't popping up? |
|
All the crappy RW slop comes up but not this article. I went to page 3 and it wasn't there. This is total BS, as this article is more recent than 11/27 crappy articles about how "unlikeable" he is.

they quote most of this quite short article. And are expecting some comments from the attendees. Stop by, tell them what you think.

16. Yes -- great post. I left 2 comments. Still, I really, really would love it if I googled |
|
John Kerry and that blogger Herald article came up on page 1. Markos actually had a post about how bad google news was, and all the crackpot websites it ends up featuring. On that, I would strongly agree with him.

Strange stuff this internet news thing.
I actually talked to this guy from the Herald for about 15 minutes with Brigid also listening in. They used one sentence. LOL! So that's how it works, I get it now.

22. Congrats to the people who showed up |
|
They made it easy to talk about. And I thank Brigid from Sen. Kerry's office for helping me to find the courage to speak to the Herald. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't regularly speak to anyone in the press. (That's my husband's job, as a local elected official and it was really a new experience for me.)
I guess I can say I fulfilled my mantra, "Please God, don't let me screw this one up." That's very nice.

20. At last! Recognition that there is support out here! |
|
For a while, I thought we were invisible.
We'd go to Kerry events, listen to the applause and watch the standing ovations only to hear how unpopular and unliked he was when we turned on the television or opened a newspaper.
Sweet Vindication!
They at last realize there are Kerry supporters out here and we are a true grassroots movement. For every one of us that post here, there are thousands out there who send in $10. and $25. every time Senator Kerry sends out an e-mail asking for support for a Democratic candidate or cause.
Great quote BTW, Tay!
