Cuz sometimes ya just gotta laugh. (Mass Repub Party)
Edited on Wed Jan-31-07 09:33 AM by TayTay
This is an honest to God letter that ran in the Lowell Sun on Monday. I did not make this up. This is how Mass Repubs have to think to get themselves through the night. Read this and understand why we say that there is no one who can run and win against Kerry in '08.

Proud to be a Massachusetts Republican
The Lowell Sun
Article Last Updated: 01/30/2007 11:30:12 AM EST

Today is a great day to be a Republican in Massachusetts; the Democrats have no one left to blame. In a last-ditch effort Mr. Patrick tried to lay blame on outgoing Gov. Romney for a $1 billion deficit. That's a huge blame considering the day before he took office there was more than a $1 billion surplus. It also doesn't make much sense, because if we were in such a daunting fiscal crisis, why did Mr. Patrick add almost a half a billion dollars to Gov. Romney's balanced budget?

The Democrats have made many promises, have used smoke and mirrors. The word disingenuous would be polite but probably doesn't capture the true essence of how they have kept such unbalanced power in Massachusetts. This last time around they ran on lower property taxes, better schools, not obeying the mandate to roll back income taxes to 5 percent, and using our tax dollars to give in-state tuition and driver's licenses to illegal aliens. I think I know which of these promises they will keep; it won't be the first two.

The unenrolled voters in Massachusetts are the group of people who ultimately decide who will be elected both locally and statewide. There will be no doubt in their minds as we watch the next couple of years unfold. This alone will restore a two-party government, something Massachusetts has been lacking for decades.

Republicans, too, will come out of the closet; they will not be shamed by their neighbors and the media not to speak their mind. Recent years have been difficult for good, honest Republicans. I have even found myself running for the mirror after watching the evening news, checking to make sure there weren't horns growing out of my head. Those days are behind us now, my friends. People will be willing to look at the good things we do, volunteering in our community, caring for our seniors and veterans, working to eliminate waste in our schools so we are more efficient in teaching our children. I am proud to say I am a Massachusetts Republican; we are finally about to get the positive recognition we rightfully deserve. Remember this date -- 2008.

You can't make this stuff up. Friggin Howie Carr loving Mass Rethugs are reduced to attempting to figure out how the State Budget went form $1 billion to the good to $1 billion in the red in one day. (Hello, Mitt lied, hello!) These poor deluded bastards are checking their heads to see if they have horns. Mother of God, you can't make this shit up. I have no idea what the writer is so proud of, but I think it's probably between him and his shrink at this point.

So, yeah, it's like that. And these crack experts are going to be able to run a Senate race? Give me a friggin break.

5. There are rumors about Andy Card running
I may be part of a "10 espresso shots a day" campaign and bringing my blood pressure to 180/100 by then, but if I am not, then that would be beyond hysterical. Almost as funny as Jerome Corsi.

That would be the funnest race ever!

Ever!

Ever!

Debate: Question 1: Mr. Card, didn't you work for George W. Bush as his Chief of Staff during the first 5+ years of his Administration?

Card: "Yes."

Okay, we can go home now.

2. Are they going to allowed out of their closets?
It is pretty interesting that the writer said that. Hey, didn't they kind of run a campaign against Kennedy?

3. I feel sort of sorry for the guy. He appears isolated and lonely.
Poor thing,is he like the rest of the lonely Repubs in Mass having self doubt and questioning if you are actually evil?

4. I don't understand why the fifty remaining republicans in MA
don't just move somewhere they would feel more at home. It's clear that they feel alienated and alone, and it's also clear that they will never change the political climate in our state.
I'm not advocating a 'cleansing' of the state. Far from it! Everybody is welcome, all people of all stripes. The point is; why stay somewhere where you feel miserable, and there is no hope whatsoever to change your surroundings to better suit your taste?

6. And a place where
1: you have to stay in a closet
2: Check your head for horns.

Seriously, that is just awful. I feel for them.
