Well thank goodness Dean is going to be the chair. |
|
If he had lost we would have seen the biggest outburst of self-righteousness and bitching from the Dean purists yet (not the ones in here who are both cool and sane :) ). They (all 50 of them) would have left the party en masse and we'd have never won another election anywhere ever.
Good thing we dodged that bullet.

And it will be back to pissing all over the Democratic Party, per usual. Chronic malcontents, they just can't help themselves.

who doesn't exist! It will take a while for them to realise he isn't really what they think. That being said, I hope to hell Dean does everything he can to bring this party back to its roots!

But it wouldn't shock me if some come unglued pretty quick. Some are like fruit loops already. But I feel Dean will do ok and when I hear Kerry say that Dean will do a good job I figure he knows more than me so I'm kindly making my guess by listening to Kerry about him. And so far Kerry has supported Dean and has said he will do good.

it's a lot easier for their guy to remain the ideologically pure straight-talker they imagine him to be when he doesn't have an actual, y'know, position of power.
Me, I'm delighted! I suspect he knows exactly how to fight dirty when he has to (and if he doesn't he'll learn) and ignore the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the purer-than-thou.

9. That's going to happen because of the... |
|
ineptitude of the Rethugs. They can run an election, but they cannot govern. Their idea of governing is to try and ram everything down the throats of Congress. This was not working until 9/11, then it did because of extraordinary circumstances. Now those circumstances are changing again. Did you see the budget * submitted today? I think that thing, like his Social Security proposal is DOA. The guy has no political governing ability, he stamps his feet and pouts and says, You have to pass this cuz I'm the King." NFW. (NFW = No F*cking Way.)
The Dems are learning how to block unnecessary proposals from the Idiot King. Now they have to offer their own agenda and make it sound like Democrats. America knows what Dems stand for basically. But the Dems have to own their own stands and people. Maybe Dean can help. I think he is going to be way better on process than people think. Thank goodness. And I think John Kerry can deal with him on most things and respect Dr. Dean enough to realize that he is not a hindrance on other things.

Bush should have his picture next to the word "incompetent" in the dictionary! Rove helps him win, but he is not presidential material, and never was. He was a weak governor who thought he could handle it. Without 9/11 he'd be gone by now. But again Rove stepped up and they used fear to get votes.
Now they can continue to wreck the country, and it is up to the Dems now, and they realize this, to save things. And hopefully some brave and patriotic repubs, too. Good for Dean--we need someone with the right stuff to get some things done now! And I agree that Kerry will be on the same page with this new DNC chair. Ideologically I don't believe they are very far apart. Both see the new way the party is going toward the grassroots.

I had to un-ignore her to see what she said. Holy cow is she obnoxious. Now she's talking about revenge like we're the Hatfields and McCoys? That's the wierdest thing I've ever seen. In defending/extoling Dean she made him out to be petty and vengeful, and I doubt he is either.
I really hope Dean is as sickened or more sickened by these people as/than I am.

Do these people ever grow up and give it a rest. I mean seriously I understand when it comes to politics that people get pissed and spout off when they shoudn't or say something they regret later or even they stay mad for a while but my gawd. Some of those in that thread hell I don't know it is just ridiculous. When are they doing to learn that you can like more than one dem at a time. Hell some act as if you have to worship one and screw the rest. SHEESH!

That is one thing I learned quick when I joined DU. It a wonder DU has as many members as it does with all the hatred and bashing that constantly goes on. I have heard a many that had it not been for groups like this they would have left along time ago. I also have freinds that have been members and left and won't come back even now that there are groups like this one. But honestly I don't think it will ever stop here at DU I really don't. And I don't understand what these people feel they are going to accomplish by acting like this.
The only democrat I have a hard time lining up behind is Loserman and I'm not trying to jump on the bash dems wagon but it is hard to support that man for anything. He needs to go in 2006. I hope they get a good dem to run against him but if not we will be stuck with him again. Because as bad as he is and to me he sucks he is still better than another republican. But we can only hope they get rid of him with another dem.

24. As a Derryiac, I hope that both Kerrycrats and |
|
Deaniacs give Dean a chance. No, it is not going to be a magical turn around but he will be the best DNC chair for the GLBT people even. PERIOD. Both Kerry and Dean would have been the best president for GLBT people. (Their opinions on GLBT people are about the same. They both believe that God makes people gay and that gay people should have the same civil rights as straights.)

I figure that with the state that the party is in, a new breath of fresh air couldn't possibly hurt. The status quo isn't working. It's time for a change.

I'm hoping he goes in there and does exactly what needs to be done. I hope he takes the same positon as Kerry, we don't need to change anything about our principles. We just need to get better organized and tighten up our message so that it's consistent. The only thing I'm worried about with Dean is that he'll end up being just like he was in Vermont and I wouldn't be happy about that at all.
