Blogger Call
Edited on Fri Mar-30-07 06:10 PM by sandnsea
John & Teresa spoke with bloggers this morning. Great call, they're very nice people, as you all know. :)

Here's my take, if you want to read it. I'm sure others will post better stuff later.

1. Great diary Sandy - What an incredible opportunity!
Edited on Fri Mar-30-07 06:43 PM by Island Blue
BTW, anyone who is a Kos trusted user, please go to Sandnsea's diary RIGHT NOW! Someone who posted, needs to be troll rated IMMEDIATELY! Thanks!

Edited to say the troll has been dealt with.

2. I am SOOO glad I just got troll rating powers back
It was fun - I was number 5 and it's gone. That was pretty disgusting. (thank God no one recommended it.)

3. The troll gave him/herself away when referring to her
as Ta RAH za. That's freeper talk, plain and simple. I zapped the troll, too. Just a wonderful and moving diary, Sandnsea. I also was in on the call, got to ask one question, and am mulling over what I want to write. I may mull for a couple of days, but I was extremely impressed with his answer about more cities becoming like Portland and how the federal government must lead that effort just like we have in other historical transition times.

7. Unfortunately it got uprated.
What a nasty piece of work. Supposedly the poster is "a respected member of the community."

Not by me.

11. Just another poopoohead
I thought he was pretty ridiculous. Imagine a woman showing up at her own event and insisting everything be right. Whoda thunkit??

15. He did at some point accept that he was a bit wrong
This did show that his trusted status (prior to this) let his comment continue to be there when the comment from someone without this special rating would have been deleted. At least the back and forth seems to show that he likely is not a troll but that the comment was abusive.

12. And, more poopooheads
If anybody wants to have some fun. This SO pisses me off because that 50,000 event in Portland in August was not because people were wanting to hate on Bush. It's just the "lefty chic" herd, who have no more original thought than the freeper herd as far as I'm concerned. They ARE the ones who refused to vote Gore in 2000, and I do believe they're idolizing him now for their personal redemption. Anyway, chime in if you want. Like I've said, Oregon is DU LIVE!! Little Beirut. Thrives on anarchy. Don't hold back now!!

14. Thank you
I am now being accused of being a paid operative. :eyes:

This is why I keep my distance in Oregon politics. Good grief. This is the exact same garbage I was arguing on the newspaper forum with the right wingers. Incredible.

I was being accused of being a Kerry apologist for defending him last early last year on a forum/blog cause people couldn't (and still can't) get over 2004. :eyes:

I wish I could post more about TMOE elsewhere but I am afraid of the reading replies (don't know why).

17. After I was accused of it - and responded relexsively
that I wasn't and was a just a retired NY woman, I realized that instead, I should have said,

"Thank you for thinking that my writing and content were good enough that the Senator would employ me to write these things, but it is not true. By the way, I have seen several posters on various blogs who state in their signature line that they are employed by Kerry's PAC - leading me to beliieve that this is standard for them."

20. lol
cracks me up too. I was part of the very unpopular group in the then-tiny blogosphere arguing Gore v Bush prior to 2000, and couldn't get a far leftie friend of mine to move past the Gore Is A Bore meme. I'd bet anything she's singing his praises now, which- for him personally- is great, but hey, our country was at stake. sheesh. It's so, "How did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?" ;-)

Sandy, seriously, your voice shines in that piece. Keep going!!!

Posted and rec'ced and got way too personal in one response. Oh well, who cares? :-)
Love that this issue is on the front burner and love your writing, Sandy! You're on fire, this is your cause and your moment.

Thanks to everyone for working so hard. I miss checking in here every day. Also miss Ron and my friend Matt, if they happen to stop by here... ;-)

It's spring, WE ARE MOVING FORWARD!!! (need more coffee!)

9. Thanks KJ
Yeah, it has been a long slog, I know what you mean. I am still flipping back and forth myself so I know what you mean. I think just being aware and working it into every day conversations is as important as anything and I'm sure both you and your husband do that. It's so common sense to me. If you wouldn't feed it to your baby, don't put it on the planet. Doh.

21. What you said...
;-)

Life works out the way it's supposed to, because, exhausted as we were after moving here, I somehow landed in a position of supporting those who are exposing local Republican corruption. I'm not the exposer or the target, I get to be the bucker-uper of those who are. It's a relief, to be quite honest. And like you said above, everyday conversations and behavior are powerful participants of change. We do the work that is front of us to do, eh? @;-)

Keep writing!

"The frog does not drink up the pond in which he lives."
~~either an old Chinese poet or George Carlin, not sure which. ;-)
