"I only gave money to Kerry 'cause he promised to defeat Bush" |
|
Riiiight. Isn't that what most opposing candidates are trying to do?
I can't believe the ABBers think they can dictate what Kerry should do with money that they donated to him.
"It's OUR money!"
Um, no. If you donated it to Kerry, it's now his. Sucks to be you.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that fund we all donated into wasn't labeled ABB, was it? There wasn't a fine print disclaimer that said all money will be donated to a worthy cause if candidate doesn't win?
Arrrraaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhggggggg! (cough) aaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiigggg!
(twitch) I'm fine. No need to worry. (spaz) I'm fine. Really. You can put down the net.

"Well," said the fool, "It's my money after all." No, idiot it isn't. Unless you got something in writing that said, "This money is to be returned if it isn't spent exactly as I stipulate it should be spent," then it ain't your money anymore. What part of 'donated' do you not understand?
The nerve of some people's children! It's Kerry's money now, and he can do what he wants with it. If these idiots don't like it, they should start their own PACs and only donate to themselves. Fools!

4. What gets me is they're holding Kerry to some bizarre standard |
|
that no politician has been held to before. Hell, Gore didn't cough up much of his warchest until Kerry became nominee.
The person in question on the other thread cracked me up. "Me and my dozen liberal and yet diverse friends agree." Oh, wow. Greaaat. We have a consensus then?
You didn't put money into an "ABB 2004" fund. You donated it to Kerry. Sorry 'bout that.

5. My friend was telling me yesterday how the ABB crowd kept us competitive |
|
With fundraising and such. Maybe. But I do believe that their inability to actually say anything positive about John Kerry probably hurt us more than their money helped. Well, what can you expect from a bunch of people who probably idol worshipped Ralph Nader in 2000?

6. Oh no, it's John Kerry's fault we lost. Don't look at the negativity |
|
vote. They did all they could. It was the weakness of the candidate that did us in. All I was supposed to have to do was present that ham sandwich and folks were supposed to flock to it. If Lurch couldn't defeat the worst president in living history that's not my fault.
Blah. Negativity never wins elections. Ask Dole.

7. Well isn't this a problem now: |
|
The Democrats actually have enough money left over to fight about! These people just don't get how it works. Anyway, if they gave anything after the convention, it went directly to the DNC--that's where about a third of mine went.
People on this board just want to hate John Kerry--that's all it is. But in the outside world it's better. On Washington Journal this morning the guy pointed to a graph showing people's favorites for the next electon. Hillary Clinton was in the lead at 40%, but John Kerry was second at 25%. Not bad--and there is still plenty of time. :)

8. Am I wrong in thinking that most of the leftovers are from primary season |
|
Yes? If so, then unless they gave to him during the primaries, do they have the right to bitch now? Or is it not that clean?
I have a question regarding that poll, by the way. It feels like the RW is pushing Hillary. And that poll was done by CNN/Gallop. I don't trust Gallop any farther than I can throw them.
Plus, Dean was ahead in the polls until someone actually cast a vote, a fact that still bugs the stuffin's out of some Deaniacs.
