Who, oh who could it be?

I really think I have seen this movie before and it was quite well done. :)

1. Wow -- AWESOME!! I never did hear Deval Patrick speak.
Thanks for linking to that video. Hmm ... Deval has endorsed Obama, so I guess the rumors of their "rivalry" were overstated. Interesting to hear that Republican Kerry derided him, when forced to say something nice about him, by saying "well, he can give a good speech".

So tell me -- Is Gov. Patrick serving Massachusetts well? I did hear there were a few hiccups at the beginning of his term, but has he now settled in?

3. personally, I've been somewhat disappointed in Patrick's
first year. . and I'm really opposed to (and also befuddled by) his big push to install 3 big casino resorts in MA.

7. I am also opposed to the casino push
And would really love to know JK's thoughts on that issue.

I am very glad Patrick, a Democrat, is our governor after so many years of Republican bad government, but I am uneasy about Patrick without being entirely sure why. He is incredibly charming and a great speaker, but while I recognize the extreme challenges he faces trying to shore up the MA economy and keep things (and people!) working, I can't help feeling that he leans a little further toward corporate welfare than I like.

On the other hand, what do I know? :-)

5. Through chance I got to see him - because he had a speech in Faneuil Hall
on a day we needed to be in Boston to pick up our daughter in the evening. It was the first time I saw anything at Faneuil Hall and it was incredible. His wife was an excellent speaker and really impressive person as well. I was surprised that from the TV we saw that day, Kerry Healy was like the MA people here characterized her.

2. Obama's Iowa speech certainly played many of the same notes

Patrick was incredible and it seems as though Obama will be as well.

Though I still would have preferred Kerry, I really do think that he made the right decision. I feel more optimistic that we will get change now. I am surprised how fast and strong the backlash against both Clintons was been. It is clear that change is the message in both parties. Though Kerry was certainly speaking of it in 2004, maybe you needed someone new as the messenger.

6. Obama's theme of uniting our divided country is somewhat reminiscent
of Patrick's "Together we can" slogan.
