a little JK love from the Carpetbagger:
http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/16456.html

I’ve long believed John Kerry is much funnier than people give him credit for: “I don’t know if you know this. John McCain is looking for someone for vice president who has more economic expertise than he does. So congratulations to all of you, you’re on the short list.”

1. Nice... It is sad that, because JK takes people seriously when it matters, some idiots
think he is boring.

Sad also to see that the blogs have become the same gotcha culture than the MSM they claim to despise. Amazing and very disturbing.

2. I've always found the boring charge mystifying
I think the combination of the witty, sarcastic humor and the extremely sincere seriousness is very compelling, and unusual. How anyone finds him boring is beyond me.

In addition to being very knowledgeable and insightful over a huge range, he has the intellectual curiosity and creativity of the a smart child, that most people lose. I love to watch him speak of what can be done on the environment. Many have the same sense of purpose, but no one else communicates the excitement he does that we can fix so many problems through American ingenuity.

His life is jam packed with interesting things he did and said - that compete with anyone else.

I think it's a case of not wanting to be the only person saying - "No, I've seen him. He's charismatic, funny and a genuinely nice person - and Teresa is each of these too. There are so many media people who have said this since 2003 - and to Carville and Begala, I say that not only is he a far better person than Clinton, he is more interesting.

4. Maybe it's the deep voice?
Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 10:52 PM by politicasista
I always had to cover my ears every time my college friend called him a "lurch". (I know that's a RW thing :puke:) Tom Joyner's sidekick/comedian J. Anthony Brown joked in 04 that the question he wanted to ask Kerry when he called the TJMS that morning was "Why the long face?" Seriously! (:eyes:)

Despite BC's tenor voice, he is not that interesting. He's know for droning on and on (i.e. '88 convention--too young to remember that one!)

5. I like Kerry's voice
It is a very strong, resonant voice that shows a range of emotions with no shrillness. (When Bill Clinton was bulling the reporters before Nevada, his voice took on "chalk on the blackboard" tones that made me want to change the channel!)

6. It is very strong
Having a deep voice (a la baritone) often gets misunderstood as a "bore." I know they said the same about Gore (who also has a deep voice). I do agree that BC's voice is very shrill. It almost sounds like he's hoarse. (It was scary when he repeatedly cut off Jacqui Reid on the TJMS one morning defending HRC :scared:).

7. I actually think he is hoarse.
I've read that he has both sinus problems and acid reflux, and either of those , even more so, both of those, can do that to your voice. This is in addition to the emotional stuff, which I also find scary.

8. Yep. He might need some
chill pills before this is over. He is four years removed from major heart surgery.
