Everything is pushing down on me or breaking down on me. So, I don't know, I guess I'm starting an open thread meant to discuss anything and everything.

The nasty ass weather isn't helping either. I need to get my computer fixed before it gives up on me for good. Someone crashed into my parked car. All kinds of deadlines are piling up on me. On the bright side, the person who crashed into my car left information. I think the weather is what's compounding my feelings.

I came home for the weekend from school and have been having a pretty good time. I guess that nasty dent in my car just snapped me back into the reality of all my responsibilities and the money that i'm going to have to spend. Money I don't have incidentally. I also drove to my mom's house and I couldn't see anything. That was pretty scary.

6. hopefully the person who hit your car has to pay |
|
or at least their insurance will do it .
i'm not very good with deadlines and just keeping schedules overall either. even if whatever i have to do isn't really hard i just feel burdened until i get it over with.

8. Well, the guy is my friend's next door neighbor |
|
He seems to be a pretty good guy and in his note he said he was sure his insurance would pay for it. Hopefully, it will all work out.

I have to say though, there's no better feeling than when it's all over. At least for me it is

It's a good feeling not to have something hanging over you. But for your sake I hope everything resolves itself well.

It will. This nasty rain is just making me feel worse, I guess. I should just stop complaining :)

11. nothing wrong with complaining about these things |
|
it always makes me feel better to just talk about it even if it isn't all that big an issue but just about the moment.

14. "cultivate your pleasures" |
|
I read that in a book I just read called "French Women Don't Get Fat". She thinks we need to look for ways to add pleasure to our lives, and that Americans are so puritan about enjoying themselves, that they end up eating too much food to compensate.
Well that is off the topic--but it occured to me that when life's bad stuff piles up, looking for little ways to put some pleasure back in helps: a hot shower, an old movie, or any other little comfort you can find. Seek out the small ways to have fun in life. As women we tend to put ourselves and our happiness after others.
Hope you're feeling better soon! :pals:

I will be starting my garden soon. My Christmas present of a year ago was an indoor seed starter, complete with lights and trays and such. So I will shortly be getting my starter seeds ready and planting flowers and veggies in hopes of spring finally returning here long about May. (Okay, April, but we can't plant anything outdoors until May.)
This appeals to my earth-mother side. There is something so special about watching seeds push up from soil (well, soilless seed starter kit, actually, but it looks like soil) in the middle of March that is so renewing and sensuous and, ahm, well spiritual. Sigh! Every time I put up a tray full of seedlings in March, it just makes me feel so good. It's like taking a little vacation. I love it.
You're right, sometimes it's the little things that really make a difference. Who knew, making Marigolds or impatients or begonias grow, renews my soul and sense of purpose.

I've been thinking about you and your computer and hoped you got it fixed. Now your car too!!! Maybe your mommy will make you a nice cup of hot chocolate and make it all go away. :)
