Announcing a new JK media archive

Come and check out our new JK video/media archive. You can search for video in different categories, play them full-screen, search for transcripts, and more. We're just starting out, but we have several dozen videos up, and more to come.

Don't miss the news roundup video, the Kerry Report, with clips from JK's recent appearances in Massachusetts.

Most importantly, we intend the site to be a video resource for bloggers. We'll provide embeddable clips that bloggers can use in their posts and clips are also available as m4v's for download to iPods and mp3 players. We'll cut small clips out of longer videos on request, and search for videos that we don't yet have online.

1. I just wanted to add

how grateful I am that my friend Neil, who did the programming for KerryOnIraqWar back in 2004, was willing to do all the programming and design work on this site and to give us the features that we have. (We welcome suggestions for other features and feedback on how the site works for people, by the way.) Neil doesn't hang out on DU and isn't part of "this crowd," but he's a Kerrycrat too and has worked his butt off to get the site up -- and continues to work on it. The site is a team effort among the three of us. You can read more about the features it has under "How can we help you?" on the site.

ETA: I forgot that Neil added an explanation under Site Features in the top bar of the site. It explains how the videos play in different sizes and the "JK2Go" -- downloadable versions of the videos that people can put on their iPods.

Just heard Beatty on local Boston NPR this morning. He was infuriating. . kept claiming that JK did nothing for MA (!! good grief) . sites like these will be a great help.

I just wanted to say thanks for the good wishes for the website. (BTW, we had a glitch earlier today that brought the site down for a few hours, but it's been fixed now. I guess the first few days of a new site are kind of like a shakedown cruise.) Please leave us comments, questions or feedback about ways we can improve. And if anyone wants to share stuff with us to post or wants to make videos with us, let us know -- we'd love to do collaborations with people who have ideas and knowledge about JK and the issues but not a lot of video-editing experience. And yeah, Democrafty, we would love to have transcripts from you -- I'll email you. :)
