but even the best arguments can fall on deaf ears and not be heard. I don't post much in the general forums because it just doesn't seem to be worth it. (On the threads that deal with particular pols. Other threads are more general and deal with issues and policy questions and have more merit.)
You can't win on these types of threads. People are arguing from emotion and you can't argue away the fact that someone either feels something or they don't. (I never felt anything about Howard Dean. I liked the guy and I enjoyed his run for the nomination. But I was never a Deaniac. I can't be argued into being a retroactive Deaniac. I also can't argue someone else out of what was an obviously genuine emotional connection to the guy. That would be pointless and a waste of time.)

2. True, and I don't mind that he has a connection to Clark |
|
but I wish he didn't degrade Kerry on his way to that connection. He's almost Smear Vetting here. Bleck.
Anyway, every once in a while I toy with the idea of requesitioning for a name change. But I did start off as a Clarkie, a superficial Clarkie, but a Clarkie nonetheless. Then I was a Clarkie for Kerry. Now I feel almost no connection to Clark at all except that I appreciate his crusade against the neocons. Like you, I like him, but I'm not really a Clarkie any more.

3. Wow, I am impressed, LittleClarkie! |
|
You always are very colorful. "What is this a..." I am so tired of that, too. Thank you!
Do you regret being called LittleClarkie now? Didn't you support Clark?
I use the Dean avatar because he is who I supported during the primaries. He will always be a part of my family because my cousin lives in VT and benefits from VT's health care system. Also, my VT uncle blesses gay unions now mostly because of Dean and his supporters. That is a powerful personal connection, indeed.

4. Thanks. I think I'm just waiting for the inevitable "shouldn't you be |
|
Little Kerry?" I get that once in a while. People look at the name and then at this blatant Kerrycrat and get confused.
I wonder if they will have another naming amnesty anytime soon. But then again, everyone seems to like Little Clarkie, so maybe I just won't worry about it. I'm in a slightly off mood right now, so I should let that pass first before I go begging the admins for a name change.
