What's going on, everybody?
How's life treating you? I'm pretty pissed off right now. Last night, my roommates decided to have a big party. I participated a little but got bored and started to talking to my friend on the phone. Next thing you know, the cops are coming and my roommates kick everybody out and tell me to stay and not open the door for anyone. So basically, I had to hide out and not deal w/ the knocking security guards outside. Great. So I'm all angry but I don't say anything because I'm a moron who lets people walk all over me. So my other friend tells me to confront them. I do. My roommates basically say, well we had to leave because we told the security guard that we didn't live here and we didn't mean to leave you in that position and blah blah blah. So now, they think I'm a bitch and they're all pissed off at me. Sigh.

6. I'm a dumbass
I guess I let people take advantage of me too much. I have a hard time saying no. The one time I voice my objections, people get mad at me!

4. Wow, Are they usually nicer?
They may be mad at you, but really know that they are the ones in the wrong. Otherwise, can you get new room-mates? Hope things get better soon.

8. They're all in a sorority
They're usually not too bad. A little irritating. I wanted new roommates but I was having a hard time doing that so I just renewed my lease with them. One more year to look forward to. Whoop de do.

7. Ahm, that's not good

If they would do this to you, then they might actually do something with even worse consequences next time. I think it might be time to either get new roommates or a new place.

What was it Dear Abby used to say: People can't take advantage of you without your permission. Listen to your blog.Mom: you need to make a change my friend.

10. I wish I had someone else to move in with
I was supposed to move in with some friend but she decided to live with other people. Let's just say I don't have the most dependable friends at school. My real friends are back home.

I honestly didn't really know what was going on. I was on the phone. Next thing you know, I'm just lying in bed in the dark hoping the cops would leave.

26. Sorry to hear about your so called friends
But good for you telling they were wrong!

The only thing I can offer besides my sympathy is to tell you I used to be bad about standing up to people too. Up to my mid-20's I could be a real door mat (especially when it came to men) and then I got tired of it, went into therapy (btw, that wasn't the only reason.) Long story short, by the time I hit my 30's I was known for being outspoken and now in my 40's I'm a genuinely pushy, loud-mouth but fabulous broad!! And I love it. And those who love me - love me and those who don't love me - screw them and stay out of my way!

You were right to stand up for yourself - the more you do it, the easier it will become. And if your circle of friends gets smaller, well at least it will be better too!
