For AngryDemocrat - A Genuine Nice Globe story
I was perusing my copy of yesterday's Boston Globe and found in their Sunday Magazine a genuine nice story about John Kerry. (You could have knocked me over with a feather!) Either they were starting to get the warm and fuzzies or somebody was spiking their eggnog.

Check this out ... (It is sad, but poignant.)
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/kerry/articles/2004/12/26/the_veteran/?rss_id=Boston.com+%2F+News+%2F+Politics+%2F+Recent+Globe+coverage

Love! And this was said by somebody at the Globe! Well, consider me gobsmacked and shocked.

BTW, Kerry came in 3rd in the honorable mention category as Bostonian of the Year. The actual honoree was Theo Epstein, GM of the Red Sox. 1st Honorable mention went to the lawyer who produced the Gay Marriage decision, 2nd went to the guy who books shows at the Wang Center theater. Kerry got 3rd. If he had won, he probably would have gotten 1st honorable mention behind the Red Sox GM. (Yeah, it's like that around here.) Honestly, behind the guy who runs the Wang? But at least the Globies said something nice!

BTW, this year's St. Pat's Day Breakfast should be really good. I can tape it for you if you like. And thanks for all your great bio posts. You rock sweetie!

1. Well, I'm gonna cry now
Hormones suck, btw.

But I will second that emotion. Not just Bostonians have come to love the big lug. What a nice article! Take note of the reporter's name, they must be open-minded.

Now then, where's my next naysayer? Have at you!!

2. Nice, for the Globe
Too bad they didn't ask themselves why it took the rest of the country to show them what they'd missed for 20 years.

3. Thank You TAY TAY
I have to agree that someone must of spiked the eggnog. But thank God they did. This man has been through enough already. He deserves people saying something honest and being nice to him. Especially the people of MA. because honestestly I don't think they realize how lucky are to have this man on their team. I really appreaciate the Glob giving the man a break. Maybe, just maybe they are starting to see what a lot of us have seen and known for a long time. I HOPE!!

As far as Bostonian of the Year I can understand it being someone from the Red Sox after all look how long it had been since they won the World Series. Man was that GREAT!! It made all Red Sox fans feel like they were on top of world for days. I know me and my daughter were. I would have thought they would have had the owner in their too. I like him also.

And please do tape the St. Patrick's Day Breakfast for me and my daaughter. My daughter said to tell you that she may not no you personally but she would love Tay Tay forever if you did that for us. She read what you wrote and said OMG mom you think she will really do it for us!? I laughed at her and told her I didn't think you would offer if you weren't serious. My daughter is crazier than me LOL.
She said I always meet all the right friends that the ones she meets all they do is talk a lot they never offer anything nice like that. LOL. So you have made my daughters day.

4. 'twould be my pleasure
As long as the stipulation is made that not all of this program is interesting. (Not everybody can make a decent joke or carry a tune.) That said, I am hoping that this event gets better and more inclusive of the 'new' Boston. (i.e., more racially diverse and has more women. That would be nice and it might actually include more people who can sing.)

This event has become so big in recent years that the TV had added a pre-game show called, (I shit you not) "Live from the Green Carpet." Would you like that too? Oh, and there are like 8 other breakfast in MA that are pretty much the same thing. I will tell you if any of them have any good appearances or jokes by telling you the web sites.

My pleasure, and my best to your daughter. I'll, of course, private e-mail anyone who wants this as the time draws nearer.

5. Of Course
I want the pre game show! WOW this sounds cool as shit! I cant wait to get it. So tell me Tay Tay when me and my daughter move to Boston (and my husband) do you think we will fit in with all the other Bostonians? My daughter say's all the time we are finally going where we belong, because we sure don't belong around here. She say's we are the opposite of these redneck fools here.(And you know what she is right LOL)

All we do is argue with most of these fools here. We are democrats surrounded by repukes, we love the Boston Red Sox most of these fools hate them, most of these fools like the Alanta Braves(arggg!), the only thing that we agree with these fools about is we don't like the New York Yankee's LOL. OMG can you believe that these fools were pulling for the Yankee's in the World Series!? So you know we was just as happy as all the people in Boston when the Red Sox won. I sometimes think these rednecks love to argue with me and my daughter. It is actually comical around here at times. It has been like a nightmare LOL fighting over Kerry and the Red Sox. But my daughter always use's her favorite line she got from Kerry now when it comes to all these fools..."BRING IT ON"
