Is CounterPunch to be believed... |
|
when they describe Dean as a centrist who was neither liberal or environmentally friendly? Because that's where the rant came from, my reading last night of Dean's record. If so, I agree with one of the articles I read that said Dean should have run as the centrist he was and not the populist he pretended to be. He might have gotten some Republicans with that fiscal conservative leaning of his. What do you all think.

1. I didn't read the rant - |

but I wouldn't give Counterpunch any credibility at all. They're a bunch of holier-than-thou uberleftists that hate Democrats and Republicans equally. They have written some very nasty things about Kerry.
I despise Counterpunch.
You don't need them to arrive at the conclusion the Dean should have run as a centrist - and that his current faux populism should be taken with a grain of salt. I always felt Dean was closer politically to Lieberman than Kerry - he saw a political opportunity to jump on the anti-war wagon and he took it.
I think he screwed himself.

2. Counterpunch has always been very anti Kerry |
|
i don't take them seriously. if you are wondering about a story of theirs then look to other sources for confirmation. but i would not take them at their own word.
actually much of it is just opinion. they take some issue they have a problem with and use it to claim how the politician is such a bad person.

4. Dean was always more moderate but because of the Iraq War |
|
and the Vermont civil unions bill he signed, the press stuck the liberal label on him.
I always thought Kerry was more liberal than Dean.

5. He is more liberal than Dean |

In fact, he has a near parrell record to Teddy Kennedy, Kerry that is, if it wasn't for Kennedy being the senior senator and Kerry focusing much of his early career as a senator on investigations, he would have made a big name for himself as a liberal.
