Time for a little fun...
While we wait for January 6th, whatever it will bring: how about posting some more of our favorite JK photos here? Here's one--

He is so great with children.

A question: how do you get the picture to show up embedded in your post, rather than as a link?

Please excuse my ignorance. ;-)

4. all you have to do is
copy and paste the url of your pic into the body of your post, and that's it. it doesn't need any tags or anything. just paste the link and the image will show up.

8. Seriously.
He's 10 years older than me - and I've had a semi-crush on him for something like 30 years.

Here's a fun story. I've met him in political situations a few times, but my favorite encounter was on Beacon Hill on a random Sunday afternoon. My family was ambling along, talking, and suddenly I saw JK out of the corner of my eye. He was walking alone down Beacon Street. I did a double take, and he grinned at me and said hi. A lovely moment, and it still makes me feel good when I think about it.

I had my little dog and said "look, there's our last great President w/ our next great President"

Yes, I still like Clinton in spite of my disagreements w/ some of his stances and no, I don't care that he got a blowjob.

I'd like a President Kerry better, though.

but I can't stay mad at the Rascal King.

But at least we could be sure that Pres. Kerry virtue would stay intact. Even so, I think Teresa would have insisted on a Secret Service guy just for Mr. Happy, standing there on permanent intern watch.

30. I Love Pictures Like This One!
Because Clinton was a president that you couldn't forget. But let me tell you he could never hold a candle next to the great man next to him! Kerry already makes Clinton look like yesterday's news and always has. Just wait till we all see a President Kerry! People will really think of Clinton as old news LOL maybe that is what Hilliary is so worried about. Oh well she might as well get over it because Kerry made her old man look like yesterday's news along time ago. And after this presidential campaign oh my at the numbers who say "Clinton who? What are you talking about? Now Kerry that is another story, we can really get have a conversation and a good one at that. But Clinton, hogwash, as I said Clinton who?"

Clinton had his time and he was a good president. But as the saying goes he's historty folk's. The new man of talk, on the minds of the American people, and in the hearts of many especially women is John Kerry.

:loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya:

And that would be far from the first time such thoughts have entered my head.

I've actually heard that the length of fingers is pretty indicitive of, er, *size*. Well, now, if you take a gander at John's hand in that last picture, you can see that his fingers are pretty damned long. Okay, so the innuendo is getting less and less subtle now...

Reminds me a bit of our late mastiff, who would give you the most sad, pathetic faces (complete with eyebrow quirks) that would just make you melt. I bet John could get his way about a lot of things, just by giving you a sad puppy face and quirking his eyebrows up like that. I know I'd cave in. :P

Olive green, dark green with a brownish tint, definitely green however. I have a fleck of brown in my left eye next to the pupil. John's eyes don't look like mine, though, they're less brownish... more like a grey-green? A stormy green? It's hard to tell in a photograph.

I sure would like to get close enough to him to see for real.

I cannot believe you are 17. I was a nearly complete idiot at 17 and you are clearly not. (You have the good sense to hang out with us, which counts for a lot.)

I am English, Irish, French and German. (The Irish is a gimme, everybody around here is a little bit Irish, even, dammit, John Kerry. He's Irish by Association, by Gawd.) Hmmm, looking at those bloodlines, it's a wonder I'm not constantly at war with myself.

He kept pointing to people in the crowd who had on Red Sox hats too.

I'm still mad at the ESPN guy who said Kerry didn't know Red Sox player names. Pete Gammon or something. He posted here sometimes, and it was obvious he hated Kerry. So I wondered if he made it up about Kerry not knowing player names.

I got called pathetic for getting a Red Sox hat in support of Kerry because of that article on ESPN.com.

One guy at the rally had a cheesehead on covered in Kerry stickers.

I was so pleased to see them destroy the Yankees, god it was awesome. Cards are a fine team, currently and historically, always were my favorite NL team honest, and one of my favorite players historically is Stan Musial who was a friend of Jack Kennedy and served on LBJ's council on physical fitness.

58. Yep
There's a conversation I read he had with JFK,
Kennedy told him, "A couple of years ago they told me I was too young to be president and you were too old to be playing baseball. But we fooled them." I believe they first met in Milwaukee, I originally read this in a now 25 year old book with interviews with all sorts of baseball players.
He was one of the most classy guys of his time too, I have Warren Spahn's autograph because my dad when he waited tables waited on him, Spanny was the best left handed pitcher of all time IMO, Spahn was a great guy too, and a war hero like Ted Williams who dad also waited on. It's really fitting that I got his autograph because he got it when I played baseball and I was a lefty pitcher. Another baseball story, my great grandfather was friends with baseball legend, Honus Wagner. Ozzie was great too, I was glad to see he got in to the hall of fame, guy really examplified the classic shortstop to a par honest.

My grandfather remembers being a big fan of Slaughter as a kid. Brock was one of the fastest people ever to play the game, had the stolen bases record until Henderson broke it. Gibson was great too, and he was incredible in 1968 with that 1.12 ERA. I am a big orioles fan, havent been to a game in a couple years though, I only have one autograph and thats by Brady Anderson, Ive always wanted Cal Ripken's autograph, I idolized him as a kid.

I was born into a Yankee fan family. Boston is technically "the enemy", but with the world series this year I kept hoping it was a good omen for John Kerry. I had my Kerry/Edwards sticker plastered to my Yankee Jacket. Very proudly, I might add.
(Actually it's still there, but it's been a little cold to wear a windbreaker these days).

76. depends on which side of the trade you're on
Roger Clemens. Ew. I think the Yanks were stupid to acquire him in the first place. I was never a fan of the guy. No doubt he's a great pitcher, but Cy Youngs aside, he always seemed arrogant. Then Boston fans hated Yankee fans more that ever, because we "got" Clemens. Resurrected the old feud, which was way before my time.

94. Love Him
what a class act he is. Great solid pitcher with an even better attitude. Team player. Clemens never seemed to have that attitude. Amyone who doubts it should look what he did after "retiring". I won't rant here. Yes, the Orioles wasted a lot of great players through bad management, and lack of spending money on the team at all. The Yanks on the other hand spend way too much, but that's George. Love the team-not a fan of the owner. :)

82. I had mixed feelings bout the WS
I am a great admirer of the Cards. Fantastic history, wonderful fans, great baseball city. I really expected the World Series to be more of a contest than it was. (I personally think the Cards just had a slump, albeit at the worst possible time for them.) I always felt as though I wanted to apologize to the Cards fans because everyone in Boston likes them and feels they didn't get enough coverage or respect in the post season. I think it's because of the Sox-Yanks rivalry and the tendency of the media to cover NY stuff. Someday, when I win the lottery or retire, I am going to go on a baseball tour of America and I know St. Louis will be so special.

Of course, I'm still in shock over the Sox winning. Still gives me the warm and fuzzies when I think about it. I go way back with the Sox, having suffered through all the ahm, difficulties since '67. This was a truly amazing event. Just wish we had completed the sweep (Patriots, Red Sox, Kerry)

83. St. Louis is a great baseball city
And on behalf of Cardinals fans, I accept your sympathy.

Baseball games in St. Louis are loads of fun. They're building a new stadium (still called Busch Stadium, thank God, not Nextel Field or some shit like that), but Busch is in pretty crappy shape, so I can't even say I mind, although obviously the park carries a bit of nostalgia for me and probably for every Cardinals fan. At my first baseball game, I saw Ozzie Smith steal his 500th career base. He got something like a five minute standing ovation. It was April 26, 1992, and the Cardinals lost 4-2 to the Expos. I was 7. Good times.

84. My first baseball memories are of '67
The Impossible Dream year. I delivered newspapers as a kid and I still vividly remember the cover of the Boston Record American that had a picture of a Cardinal on the front, cuz we played the Cards in the Series in '67.

My first Fenway games were in the 70's. ($1.00 to sit in the bleachers on those old uncomfortable benches. It was $1.50 to sit in chairs in the bleachers.) In those days, you could get high just sitting in the bleachers on account of all the people who were actually getting high around you. That has changed a lot. And Fenway is a beautiful park, but it is very old and it's days are numbered. (It opened the week the Titanic sank in 1912.) But, it is profitable, every game was sold out last year and will be again this year. I likes it, muchly.

About the marriage matters. First off yes I think he is damn good looking and sit and talk out my head at times but the fact is the man is taken. And he is very happily married I think. I think it is pretty well obvious he loves Teresa. Because if you will ever notice it is like he just shines and he is so happy when he is with her. It is very sweet I think. But the fact is he loves his wife very much. And Teresa would kick some ass over her Johnny and you can take that to the bank! I love Teresa she is my kind of lady because she is so outspoken and don't take no shit from nobody!

She reminds me of my best friend who is 68. They are both women who will tell you like it is and tell you to shove it where the sun don't shine and in a hurry LOL. And Teresa reminds me a whole lot of her. And as they say dynamite comes in small packages. And I would suggest anyone cross their paths. And I wouldn't suggest anyone mess with Teresa's Johnny either unless they are ready for a serious ass kicking. And Teresa don't have to worry about her Johnny and what he does because it is quite obvious he loves her and is not going anywhere.

So as I said I think he is good looking as hell and he is my hero but I also know thats where the line is drawn and I'm not the type nor would I be crazy enough to try to cross that line. I just talk crazy sometimes and have fun. That all it is.

Somebody asked in another thread "What if John Kerry actually read DU" The better question posed is what is Teresa actually reads DU, and finds her way here.

It will be

Actually it'd probably make her feel great, knowing she's got this man that all these other women want. That's how I'd feel if I were her (oh, if only...)

117. lol, I know
I think she would probably get a kick out of the whole thing. We love them both, and it is so obvious how much he cares for her.

I really enjoyed that other thread where we posted pictures of them both together....Well, It is getting late, and I think I am getting all mushy and sentimental.

I think that must mean it is time for me to once again attempt to get some sleep.

118. LOL
Shit if Teresa found this she would laugh still she almost cried. Hell she knows her Johnnny isn't going anywhere. If there is one thing for sure that is that John loves her and it shows very well. All you have to do is watch how he lights up and is so happy when he is with her. And Teresa knows that as well.

She would laugh and say damn "Johnny look at these crazies. See I told you that you were good looking and special and you don't listen you dummy!"

I love Teresa because she is so wild. And yes she has called her Johnny a dummy! It's actually cute.

JK: This is a f-o-ot-b-a-l-l. {drawn out for emphasis}

JE: A what?

129. lol--he wouldn't say that to John Edwards--
he was a star football player in high school! quarterback, I think?
I saw some footage somewhere--JK throws JE the football in a hotel or conference room, he catches it, and then JK says, "ah look at that soft catch" or something to the effect that he was admiring JE's easy grip on the ball. Good guy stuff, I guess.

Didn't know that. It was just a funny look on both of their faces that begged a caption. :)

Sporty things just go bouncing right over my head.

137. You cant tell by his uniform
but he was a defensive back. Only in the NFL I think your number really determines what position you play and thats fairly new. He actually was quite good at football.
