Best shot at pics
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 11:21 AM by TayTay
Apparently, the next time I see Sen. Kerry speak, I will take the time to learn the zoom function on the camera first. (As well as how to adjust for light and color in a fairly dark hall like Faneuil.)

Anyway, two pics that are marginally better than what I posted before:

Again, mea culpa. Will try again in May at the convention in Lowell.

4. When is this convention in Lowell going to take place?
Do tell. I am willing to travel for Kerry events, and hope to attend one, somewhere, this summer.

6. Massachusetts State Democratic Issues Convention
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 03:47 PM by TayTay
I, and 6,600 of my closest Democratic Masshole friends are going to convene in Lowell and discuss amending the platform of the Democratic State Party. (Which doesn't need amending. It is really very good and tinkering would only make it mad.)

Senator Kennedy is up for re-election to his office next year and should show up to troll for helpers and money. Sen. Kerry should show up because he is seeking to change the rules of the State Democratic Party in order to make us a more ordered and disciplined lot. (Good luck on that one. I have seen some miracles in my time, but a tight and organized Dem Party in MA is not one of them.) Sen Kerry would also like to talk his fellow MA Dems into holding their Gubernatorial primary earlier in the year. (This affects next years race.) Kerry would like us to nominate in May or June instead of September, which might actually allow the Dems time to organize, forgive the sins of the primary and actually elect a Dem Gov in this, the bluest of the blue states. The eventual aim of this is to shitcan Mittens, and not have a Rethug Gov who is interfering in the Presidential race in 2008. (No matter who the nominee is ;)) A worthy and laudable goal which has my full support.

There will be many parties in Lowell, because without the parties we would have to concentrate on the actual work of amending the platform. (Which means we have to read it. So. it looks good to me.) I am unattached and, so far, unwooed for this convention. My local town committee voted me in then left me to fend for myself. I would dearly love for someone to come and find me at convention and make me an offer of undying Dem love to come and do work for them. Perhaps this will happen. We shall see.

9. Yup. May 14-15
Lowell, Masachusetts. Paul Tsongas Convention Center. And various places around the up-and-coming City of Lowell. (Which, despite the best efforts of it's raggy newspaper DID vote for Kerry in the last election.)

I have actually read the platform. (TayTay pushes large glases further up on her nose in the universal gesture of geekiness.) Twice. I am totally wonky. I can now debate the finer points of Mass liberalism. Dear Lord, pray for me.

2. Okay, I posted this before, but it's my fav
There is just something about having the Senator surrounded by kids. I think I like it so much because this was a true multi-cultural event in old Boston. There was a multi-racial, multi-ethnic audience and you can see it in which kids went up to get an autgraph from their Senator. (And I love the little half smile on Kerry's face. He was loving this.) Sigh! :loveya: :loveya: :loveya:
