How did we overlook this?
Kids Come First In Miami
Friday, May 6, 2005
Florida Memorial University – Miami Florida

Johnkerry.com Press Secretary Katharine Lister

There are some great people here in Miami and folks are having fun. The crowd really reflects Florida and both Senator Graham and the Mayor of Miami Gardens, Shirley Gibson, are here to greet the crowd.

Senator Kerry and Senator Graham are talking about the importance of putting children's health care over tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

Senator Kerry says “Let's keep it simple. KidsFirst - we have to do what's right for children in America. If you can't choose to put kids first, then what are you putting first?”

He also tells the crowd about some of the stories he has heard along the way in Seattle and Texas.

Kerry says it is pretty basic, “Good development requires good health care. And good development leads to good citizenship. That's why it is so important that we build a grassroots movement that demands accountability from politicians on the issues that matter to Americans - health care, education.”

The crowd really likes this and gives him a standing ovation.

3. Awesome post
Senator Kerry says “Let's keep it simple. KidsFirst - we have to do what's right for children in America. If you can't choose to put kids first, then what are you putting first?”

Am I the only one that, that statement sends shivers down their spin?

5. Okay Blue, get in line,
It's like the line at the Deli counter. Take a number and we'll call you when your number is up. Although I thought he looked tired at this hearing and not at his most attractive best. Still.....

LLL for sure.

6. Yeah, I get that a lot.
And somehow I don't think that even if I made it to the front of the line I'd exactly be his type, but a girl can dream if nothing else.
