Senator Kerry to speak in Chicago next week |
|
Deteails somewhat fuzzy. Check it out here and see if you can figure out when he is speaking, the let the rest of us know: http://www.rainbowpush.org/conferences/annualconference/2005/I am very, very happy with this. There are lingering bad feelings and fuzy stuff from the last race. The soner he addresses it, the better. Face this head-on and see what happens.

I am glad Kerry is doing this as well. I know they will probably grill him on the concession, but it's good that he is continuing to reach out to the minority community. I know Bill is a big supporter of the Rainbow PUSH Coaliation, so I am glad he, Kerry and Edwards are going this year. Nice lineup too. This event always gets media coverage in Chicago and Urban magazines.

The voters have a right to 'grill' Kerry on whatever they want. Kerry is smart enough to know this and to welcome the chance to set things straight. (As much as he can. As much as he is allowed. Some minds will already be made up. Most won't.)
I am thrilled because it's so nice to see an ongoing and continuing dialogue between Kerry and minority groups. (It sounds funny to type that. Is that a good way of putting it? I hope it communicates accurately what I meant.)
If Kerry wants to run again then he has to face questions about the concession. That is just one of those things that can't be gone around. I think he has an answer. (I heard the one he gave the single questioner in Boston, which was that if he had had any basis to fight it on, he would have.) I would lso like to see a lot more seminars for Dems in general on how to communicate their ideas, positions and votes as they concern minority voters. It is never a bad idea to figure out how to explain yourself more fully and more completely to an audience.

5. that's what i like about him |
|
he knows it's something the voters deserve. he did it throughout the election last year also. the iwr vote was one big example. it was repeatedly brought up for months and he always took the time to listen to people's concerns about it and answer any question they had.
