Could the tandem of Kerry/Clark in '08 be beat? I think not |
|
Kerry will spend the next four years as the only reasonable voice in American politics and he will step in as the leader of our party.
If he attacks bush for the next 4 years, which we need him to do,no one can complain about him 'soft'. Edwards couldnt deliver any southern states but i'd be willing to bet that Clark would simply because or the arkansas ties and the military thing.

2. I didn't think Kerry/Edwards could be beat. |

However, I was really hoping that Kerry would select Clark as his running mate. I don't know why he didn't do that.
Something does come to mind though... I think that back in 2000 a lot of people who were leaning towards Bush ended up being decidedly in his camp after Bush started dropping hints about giving Colin Powell a cabinet position. I think that even if Wes Clark doesn't end up on a future ticket, we should make it obvious that he will have a position in the administration. With all that in mind, I really hope to see a lot more of him on TV and radio, and wherever he might be needed. If he could run for a position in Arkansas that would really be great.
Furthermore, I definately think Kerry should run again so he can put what he learned in this campaign to good use. He almost won this time, and next time all the Repub. attacks will just seem stale. I also think that "If I'd been President none of this (insert bad stuff here) would have happened" would make a great in-your-face campaign line.

3. Heaven knows I knew enough people who said they'd have voted for Clark |

but I don't know if he would have had the political chops to make it all the way. He needed the practice he got stumping for Kerry, that's for sure.
Yeah, the vet team. That could be interesting. Maybe Clark could help the vets who are still pissed at Kerry for '71 to understand.

I have always been a Kerry supporter and Clark was my second choice. I was hoping Kerry would pick Clark for his running mate this time. I like Edwards and all but he isn't the one I was hoping for. And I also feel if Clark had of been picked rather than Edwards he would be there helping Kerry in this fight not off on a farewell tour.
