In this one, Gore is second when he said he would not run again and again. I guess people are just getting bored.

1. Yeah online polls are pointless
Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 09:51 AM by Kerry2008
It's funny that Clark leads them all. I like Wesley, but he's not popular of a candidate. Look at his position in the legit 2008 polls. No where near first. I don't like these polls, because of how easy they are too rig and cheat by having supporters sworm in to vote on them. I was at a Gore support forum, and in their 2008 talk section they list online polls to go vote in. So, I take this polls with a small grain of salt.

3. This poll has no value whatsoever.
It reflects the feeling in DU, that's all. If DU was representing the pulse of the country, Kucinich would be president (not a bad idea, definitively not representative of the US).

5. I agree.
But I think there's going to be no end to them between now and the next election. An idiotic Gallup poll came out yesterday showing Kerry with high negatives and losing to McCain, Giuliani, and Clinton (who also had high negatives).

The article argued that the poll was relevant because,

This is the 21st poll on the 2008 race to be released by such pollsters as John Zogby, Fox News, Marist and Quinnipiac colleges, Newsweek and others. The polls began emerging Nov. 2 last year.

"I sense these things are getting under way earlier than ever," Mark Wrightson, a political scientist with the University of New Hampshire, said yesterday. "I got my first 2008 questions from the press in April, when I was still decompressing from 2004. I was quite taken aback."

Future presidents also fixate on C-SPAN, which already is profiling candidates du jour on "The Road to the White House," a Sunday night staple full of curious moments and eager politicians.

Even though

While early findings are not likely to predict 2008 winners, Gallup advised, "the data do give a sense of the candidate's basic appeal at this time." Contenders pay attention to the numbers, however, to help determine "whether or not they will formally seek the presidency."

It's all ridiculous. It's all name recognition. And it's incredibly stupid. But it's not going to go away. People really hate Bush, so there's a strong interest in '08.

6. there are just so many things more important than the 2008 election
right now.

It seems the people who post these polls get off on the arguing that ensues. There the same bunch of divisive assholes that made the primaries around here such a flamefest.
