I still display my Kerry-Edwards gear proudly: Do you?
My dorm room is decked out in Kerry-Edwards '04 gear still in defiance of the outcome of this election. I still wear my Kerry-Edwards button proudly on my backpack and the stickers (along with assorted anti-Bush ones) still adorn the outside of my door.

I also posted up on the door the February 9, 2004 edition of Time magazine, which had the headlines, "What kind of President would John Kerry be?". Underneath the banner, i wrote a "GREAT ONE" in bold black letters.

So I just wanna know, do you guys still your gear up?

1. The car is still decked out
Bumpersticker and round Real Deal signage by back window.

I have the rest of my gear in the back seat, and a button by me in the front.

I like the idea of putting the button on something. I don't think I'd want to go around with it on my shirt anymore.

I want people to know where I stand, esp. when the country starts to go to hell.

2. Oh my dear God yes
On my car: 4 Kerry bumper stickers.

On my purse: 3 Kerry buttons.

On my backpack: 3 (BIG) Kerry buttons.

On my notebook: Tons of stickers, Kerry and anti-Bush alike.

In the window of my apartment facing the highway: 2 big Kerry/Edwards signs.

On my wall in my room: A big Kerry sign, and my door is PLASTERED with various campaign paraphrenalia, including: the tickets to the two Kerry rallies I attended, fliers I kept from when I went canvassing in swing states, a cute picture of Kerry I found in Newsweek, and the cover of the Rolling Stone with his picture on it.

And none of it - NONE - is coming down anytime soon. The only thing I might change is one of my Kerry bumper stickers, which comes from MoveOn rather than the actual campaign, might come off to be replaced by a "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Kerry" or something to that effect.

I'll have my Kerry stuff on until it falls off, gets stolen, or until I have a new ticket to support in 2008. And if we're lucky, even then I won't have to take off my Kerry stuff, because I'll be voting for him again.

7. I have 5 tshirts
at some point the repubs around here will just have to deal with seeing me in them once in a while.

I have a Wisconsin Dem one.
Two GOTV team 04 shirts and
two Kerry shirts our HQ had printed up. One says Real Deal and the other just says elect John Kerry.

11. I have some awesome Kerry shirts
I have a generic black "Vote Kerry" shirt my cousin made for me, and I have a neat one I got from "Kerry Swag" on cafepress that has this retro look to it and says "Vote Kerry!" I also have one from the internet that has a picture of his face captioned "Sexy!" LOL, I love that one... still wear it, too.

8. Umm, I'm ashamed to admit
that the minute he conceded, I went into a rage and pulled all my Kerry gear down. Once I calmed down, I felt really bad. I can't get the sticker back on my car and by the time I wanted to put the sign back up in my window, my roommate had thrown it away. :(

9. Ok Confession Time
I had a moment of weakness on Nov 3rd that involved ripping my bumper sticker from my car. I have come to regret this. I was angry at the world that day, not at John Kerry specifically. I carry the crumpled wad of a sticker in my car to remind me.

I saw something today that really warmed my heart. It was an old beat up pickup truck with two bumper stickers. The first was the traditional Kerry Edwards sticker and the other was Veterans for Kerry Edwards. The driver was probably in his late 60's. I had to give him the universal thumbs up.

My Kerry/Edwards sticker is stuck on a blanket on my back seat. I leave it there to remind me too.

15. My husband did too
This has got to be one of the most depressing things that has ever happened in our entire lives. I think he was just trying to remove it all from view, as if that would make the pain go away. It didn't, but he had to do what he had to do.

21. Same here, I guess I was naive
I figured that the * stickers would be coming off their respective vehicles. Not a chance, they're still gloating a month later.

I hope standing outside the Ohio State House yesterday with a big poster that I made with a big picture of John Kerry in the middle that I captioned "President Kerry" at least somewhat makes up forit.

Sticker stays on the car! Not only does it match my car perfectly, it says: "Nope, not me! I had nothing to do with what's going on."

13. Hell yes I still do. I don't have a lot of it....
But the stickers are still on the Car, and anytime someone passes me with a Shrubya/Dickhead Sticker on their car, I pass them as soon as I possibly can.... I want them to see the Kerry-Edwards Sticker. A lot of them Sneer or Smirk when they pass and I had one Honk and Flip me off. He pulled in front of me and started driving REALLY SLOW. My reply was simple, and not easy to be mistaken... I tailgated him Closely and when he started to jam on his brakes I flew out around him, stayed in the middle of the two Westbound lanes and slowed down to about 40 mph... This is a 70+ mile an hour Road. Now, what I knew that he didn't was that there were four WV state Troopers just ahead, One car was running radar on the Eastbound lanes and another was running it on the Westbound lanes, the other two were the Chase cars. I finally got back into the Right hand lane and He immediately got right on my bumper, I couldn't even see his headlights in my Mirrors, he was that close. He started laying on his horn, and I simply just kept driving.... I see the Cops, and I slow down just a touch, and he is REALLY close to me... I saw both Westbound cops heads Turn and then I see the Chase car pull out with sirens blazing. The idiot behind me didn't even bother to stop tailgating me or laying on his horn. The cop got right beside both of us and motioned us over. He stopped in front of us, and walked to my door first asking me if I knew the "Jackass that was tailing you so closely?" I told him "No, I think he got mad at my Kerry-Edwards sticker and passed me, Flipped me off, and then got in front of me and started driving really slowly so I could see the big Bush** sticker he has in his back window". I even told the Trooper that I passed him for going so slow and this was how he reacted. The Cop kinda chuckled and said "well, I will add something extra to his ticket then for being Stupid. He didn't stop to think that the Cop that was going to pull him over today would be an avid John Kerry supporter as well!! You are free to go, and have a nice day!"
Gotta love that!

22. Made my day
I was at a stop light, and I pulled beside an SUV with a Kerry Edwards sticker and a Green sticker. I gave the driver the universal sign of the thumb, and she smiled and returned it. I pulled out quickly so she could see my sticker and she honked twice. I returned the honk feeling so much better about the world. It was such a simple exchange, but it was nice to find a kindred spirit out on the road.

23. Isn't it awesome
I was at a media blackout protest the other night at a busy city intersection. People slowed to read the signs, and we got so many honks and thumbs up, and rock-on's that it renewed my faith. There are TONS of us out there that believe John Kerry is the president elect. I even found out a couple that I know that are republicans voted for Kerry, and thought it was great we were protesting the lack of media coverage about fraud investigations. It was refreshing-not only is John Kerry the right person for the job, he's doing what he wanted to as president in uniting (at least some) members of different parties.

Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 09:15 PM by Faye
This sounds retarded - but oh well. I have no way to get a real Kerry/Edwards sticker. So today at work, since their color printer works really well, I printed out an image of a bumper sticker that i found online. I have it in the back window of my car now :D

Every time I get out of the car, I look at it feeling all proud of myself. Hehe.

27. You bet!
Stickers are still on my car, and not coming off any time soon. I'm proud of who I voted for, and see no reason to take them down. I see a lot of other cars around here that still have their stickers on too.

I did cringe to see a torn Kerry/Edwards sticker on the back of a truck, not long ago. The owner had clearly tried to rip it off, but enough pieces remained to be recognized. I just kinda shook my head and thought, "Where's your loyalty?"

I also have a big Kerry/Edwards sign hanging inside my bedroom door. I actually put this up after the election. Far from upsetting me further, it actually made me feel better to have it there. It, too, isn't going anywhere any time soon.

29. I kept my sign up for a week or two longer.
Given that I live in an apartment complex, I thought putting it up at all was rather noncomformist (People tend to use bumper stickers but not signs around here).

I've put away the buttons for now. I feel kind of sad about that, especially since I wore them for nearly 11 months.
