I am looking for a copy of and/or link to the post made around midnight to johnkerry.com with the famous "until all votes have been counted" line.
thanks

It's not hard to find articles on it, so why are you in here?

Because I thought I could get some friendly assistance, this IS DU, no?
The article I am seeking was on the campaign website, but since deleted, so I thought someone would have an archived copy.

3. People probably aren't too friendly... |

...Because they've seen you making snide remarks about Kerry before on DU, so needless to say, the "John Kerry supporters group" isn't going to bend over backwards to help you out. Sorry, but truth hurts

I responded to paine on the other thread because I've seen him/her post several pro-Kerry threads recently. I just tried out the "advanced search" and found a few corroborating threads, e.g.: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1717924&mesg_id=1717924http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=1595407Change of heart or mistaken identity? Or dual personality? What am I missing?

I archived the blog on my hard drive before it was taken down, and the statement that was posted at 2 in the morning was this:
Statement from Kerry Campaign Manager Mary Beth Cahill on Ohio Boston, MA – Kerry-Edwards campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill released the following statement:
“The vote count in Ohio has not been completed. There are more than 250,000 remaining votes to be counted. We believe when they are, John Kerry will win Ohio.”

If you think you're going to spin that into a claim that Kerry promised not to concede until every last spoiled ballot had been fought over in court and the last chad had been hung, I don't see how you're going to do it. But whatever you want the information for, there it is.

In case you're wondering if there was some *other* statement posted to the website somewhere -- I believe the answer is no. This is the last blog entry that was ever made, and they didn't put any statement up elsewhere on the site; the 900 comments in the thread don't reference any other statements from the campaign, either. This is it.

I believe the last post, which you could not make comments too, was his speech, that afternoon. The blog was shut down and closed for comments around 3 a.m., there were so many naysayers and garbage being posted they decided to close it. There were absolutely no statements put out that he would concede, I was a moderator on the Kerry blog and knew in advance what would be published.

11. The speech from Fanueil Hall |

was posted separately -- in the same position as where you'd expect to find the blog, but not as an actual blog entry. That's why when I used the archiving software to save the blog, it didn't include that speech. But that wasn't put up until the next day. All night long, all we had was this last blog entry. I'm glad your memory gibes with mine. I think Paine was looking for something where Kerry promised not to concede until the whole country had been dragged through the same kind of trauma as in 2000 -- at least, that's what Kerry-bashers are usually looking for, evidence that Kerry backpedaled -- and it's just not there.

I thought Paine was a Kerry-basher coming in here looking for ammunition, so I was willing to provide the info but with a side dish of snark. Now I'm realizing maybe Paine is a Kerry supporter. Or maybe neutral. Sorry to jump to conclusions.

I should still learn not to dish up the snark till I'm sure, though. As someone else once said, we Kerry supporters get kinda thin-skinned from all the bashing and can start snapping at fellow supporters if we don't watch out.
