Are Democrats doing enough right now?

At a time when Bush is limping are Democrats doing enough to keep the pressure up? I know the Cindy story is hot but she's just fighting for one issue, anti-war. There are so many other things that Democrats could be attacking the republicans for in full force. Do you think they are doing enough?

Perhaps I'm just missing some action because I haven't heard much of anything.

1. Dean mentioned this today on Face the Nation

The dems need to have the same message whether they're in San Fransisco or Georgia.

I agree! No, I don't want robots. I'd like to see a clear message.
That always seems to be the one thing rethugs get us on.
"The democrats don't have a plan for ------" Time to prove them wrong.
And it would have helped Kerry with his message if all dems were saying what Kerry was saying.

I always think about Ahnold. I heard him interviewed on the radio months before the election. He was not 100% behind Bush. He was saying things like "of course I will vote for him, but I do not agree with him on everything he does." He made several referrals to those feelings.
Yet, there he was, on stage at the Repuke Nat'l Convention. Why? Because he is a repug, and they stick together. Like a family.
A family with a mean, self-centered dad.

At least with Kerry, we had a wonderful "dad". We just need to build the extended democrat family.

2. Democrats have always been very fractious

and protective of their little fiefdoms. The national polls reveal a nation that is not pleased with the Rethugs, but are not turning to the Demcs as an alternative. The reason given (which is a little bit suspect) is that people don't know what Dems stand for. This is both misleading and a little bit true at the same time.

What do Democrats stand for?

3. Your last question is the whole problem with the dem party imho

Every dem is out preaching what they want.
When basically we all want the same things.
I am seeing an improvement since Dean took over, I will admit.
And I believe that Dean was the right choice to lead the DNC.

You know what really concerns me about this party now?
Us!!!! Not the Kerrycrats, but the grassroots movement.
They "will not vote for anyone that supported this war", "will not vote for anybody that has stock in the oil cos." etc.
There is so much anger in the party. So many more people that are going to be looking at 3rd parties.

To sum it up, what I see is the leaders starting to pull together, put the people starting to pull apart.
My only hope is that when it comes down to crunch time there will be the unity that there was last year. But then again, there is already a Cindy-bashing thread going on.;(
