"Friends of John Kerry" v.s. "Keeping America's Promise" ? |
|
Can someone help me get straight on these two groups. I got a letter in the mail from Friends of John Kerry, with a survey and request for support, and it had an environmental focus-- a letter from JK outlining some of the more serious issues we face. So I'm wondering what each one is for. Is "Friends" going to work on specific issues, while KAP is going to work on supporting political campaigns, or what? This letter also mentioned supporting candidates--I'm kind of confused. Did anyone else get the survey letter? It has a green border.

1. i'm assuming it's the same thing |

FOJK probably refers to supporters. and KAP is the name of the overall PAC.
but i think it's the same thing.

If I go to johnkerry.com, on the bottom it says "paid for by Friends of John Kerry", and then there is a similar-looking page but talkes about other stuff, and at the bottom it says, "paid for by Keeping America's Promise". It looks like that one is for supporting candidates, especially at the grassroots level. And it also says, "promote an issue agenda". But the letter threw me off because he mentions supporting candidates. Oh well, it's all good in the end.

3. I think the one is more grassroots organizing |
|
and the other (friends of) is for working on issues like health care. That's what I get from it, anyway.
