Well, I'm officially a Saints fan for the 2005 football season |
Being in central Illinois, I have no football team to call my own. I am bound by oath to hate all Chicago sports teams (and lets face it, the Bears make that easy to do), and while I adore the STL Cardinals, the Rams are a West Coast transplant that I could never really get into. The past couple of years I have rooted for the Patriots because they are HIS team ( fangirl :loveya: ) , but this year, it's pretty clear to me that the Saints need to win the Super Bowl. I know it's just sports, and that it's the least important thing right now compared to rescuing people and helping the survivors and rebuilding what's been lost, but the sappy-ass Hoosieresque sports fan in me can't help but cheer on the ultimate underdog, a mediocre team whose home city has been devastated.
Geaux Saints! :)

2. The Pats have won 3 Super Bowls |
So I could get behind rooting for the Saints for one season. We can't be too greedy up here. ;-)

3. I wonder where they'll be playing their home games this season? |
Obviously not in the Super Dome. Right now I think they are practicing at the Carolina Panthers facility.
