Lawsuit in Ohio update (complete with snark and compliments.)
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x392130

I like this part: -------
"The information is good--you can rely on it--but I doubt there will be announcements--they just don't work like that. I could be wrong, but JK is pretty uncomfortable with calling attention to either changing his mind or to fighting the battles he fights. I wish he would be less self-effacing about these things, but it is part of his natural discomfort with horn-tooting.(Remember he fought Iran Contra AND BCCI and you never heard much about it).

Awww, that's kind of sweet. And he has to tout what he is doing or no one will know. He has an excellent record, somebody has to get this out.

1. Well as I was absolutely dubious about the original news,
I would continue to think that he did not change his mind and never consider it in the first place until I hear it by somebody I trust.

But of course, people will say that it is thanks to them.

3. Kerry weighed his options. That part is true.

5. Why is that controversial?
He should have weighed his options. This wasn't an election for dog catcher, it was the friggin Presidency of the United States. He couldn't just stand up and start swearing on national TV about fraud and being gamed by a rigged system. There was a great deal of pressure from the PArty, the media and country to end the race. Without solid, verifiable proof, what options did he have. (And he was damned gracious about it. He must have been seething inside.)

That said, Mr. Kerry has had little support from people who apparently would have been happy to have him as President. (Now that doens't make sense at all.) Kerry raised this issue in Jan at the MLK Breakfast in Boston and got, "Too little, too late." He raised it in April in a speech in Boston and got, "Sour grapes." He appeared with Hillary Clinton in Apr/May to announce a new bill to provide for clean elections and got almost no credit. Mr. Kerry has continued to raise this issue and he is not receiving much support. (While a 3rd party guy like Cobb is getting lionized on DU, even though he is a bit player.)

If DU actually wants the fraud investigated, then maybe they ought to give some 'Atta Boys' to the ones who continue to fight this. Otherwise, it's just so much hypocrisy.

4. Mass, Remember during the election
when Bush said, "I'm staying the course..." and would not even look at the facts.

BUT We always said, "Kerry looks at the evidence and makes appropriate decisions based on the evidence he has. He IS willing to change his mind or "change paths" when the evidence supports it. AND isn't that a valuable asset to have in a president or anyone? The ability to see facts...make a decision...see that the facts warrent a new look and "Possibly" a new decision? What if he "blew up" and said, "I'm sueing those M****f*****'s even though I have no proof!" HE would look as bad as BUSH!!!!

BUT what if he steadily, behind the scenes, tried to investigate and "get the EVIDENCE" the hard-core fact, and then more information came to the surface? Would it be stupid for him to say, "Well, I already said I wasn't so I can't say I am now!"

I think we've been trained to think of that as "flip-flopping" BUT are we going to let others label him that way?

I'm not.

To me..he's not staying the wrong course.

He's weighing the evidence, looking for more evidence, and making decsions on an "as needed" basis.

So..he's not a hot head and he's not a god.

I can live with that!

6. me too
I can totally live with the fact that he has a brain and knows how to use it! And I think over the years he has come to be wary of the press, and believes that it is more important to talk about something once it's done, rather than publicize every step in the process.

7. yes, he's not a press-hound like some are
so that makes it an uphill battle. (And also makes the press wAnt to target him too.)

13. I like that about him personally
I like that about him personally because it shows me that he really cares and is not just doing something for politics and to make himself look better and all that. He's really a fighter. I'm glad he's still on the case. :) I wish he would work more with Cliff Arnebeck and David Cobb though. But I heard on BradBlog Bob Firtakis' interview about this (you can find it in the archives at bradblog.com) and according to him Kerry knew they stole it. The thing to always remember is Kerry is a prosecutor and any good prosecutor knows if you want to win your case you have to have proof that would hold up in a court room.
