1. Oooooh, I like that.
I wonder what will be in this major address.

BTW, let's bombard C-Span and ask them to carry this. They could do a tape and use it on their, "Road to the White House series."

E-mail C-span at:
Suggest Events: Submit a public event that you think C-SPAN should cover - events@c-span.org

It's worth a shot. Can you put this on your blogs. (Gracias.)

2. Excellent idea!!
Will do. I emailed April to see if she had anything more specific, we'll see. Licht was a governor, as you may know, and this sounds like a heavy government policy institution. So I'm speculating on some major slamming at rotten Bush and/or Republican policies. Heavy on the speculating.

There are some excellent restaurants in Rhode Island. I have a car. We could meet. But it is at 4:00 pm on a work day that I have 3 days notice for.

Anyone?

(I love Providence, RI. Lovecraft's town. Ah, memories.)

7. Whome, It's about 90 mins. away
And it's a major speech. And Providence has wicked, wicked good restaurants. And I have a car. And well, ahm, what say you?

9. Of course,
I'd LOVE to see him. But it's a long trip (especially long for you!) if you can't be sure you'll get in. It looks like they have a simulcast in an overflow room, which would be decidedly less fun.

An afternoon with John Kerry
Senator John Kerry will deliver the third annual Licht Lecture, 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, Solomon 101. Free and open to the public. No backpacks or banners will be allowed in Salomon 101 or at the simulcast in Salomon 001.

It looks like they're expecting a lot of people.

10. Oh sure, use logic on me.
Ah, I got it covered anyway. (And it's highly doubtful I could get that time off anyway because it's only 3 days or so notice.)

C-Span, come through for me baby.

11. WHAT DID I DO WRONG?
I posted this notic on the Massachusetts forum. Wachiness ensued. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=158x6486

What did I do wrong? Am I that bad a writer?

Not good deed goes by without severe confusion.

12. dunno.
I do have this to say: it appears to me like some people have a completely schizophrenic *i love him/i hate him* relationship with the good senator.

13. And Monday is 'Talk Like a Pirate Day'
Honest. But I'm still betting the speech isn't about Brown the person or Brown the School, but might be about foreign policy or possibly the Katrina aftermath.

Geesh. Sen. Kerry needs to make a speech in Massachusetts and calm down the natives. They are getting restless and those people are dangerous and snarky. Geesh.

Arrrgh!

15. Yeah, but it is a scary visual place, right?
Arrrrgh! Al Franken did this last year and I loved it. And my daughter double-dog dared me to call into a college radio station and talk like a pirate so she could get free stuff. (Apparently the radio station had this thing about getting a Mom to call in and talk like a Pirate on the air and they couldn't get anyone to do it. I did it. My daughter never shared her free stuff and her friend recorded me. Sigh!)

I thought it was hilarious. We talked like pirates all through dinner that night (with varying degrees of success - I SUCK at accents).

17. I more and more get the feeling this is going to be a hell of a speech
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 09:25 PM by TayTay
I'm making plans to go. Sen. Kerry hasn't announced a 'major speech' for awhile. (The speech in Seatle was great, but it was specific to a Dem legislator crowd.) My spider sense (ewwh, over used phrase, but that's what it is) is all tingly. I want to see this speech on Monday.

I really think Sen. Kerry is going to take the gloves off on Monday and whack That Friggin Idiot with a whomping stick. And I want to be there to see it. I think it will one for the ages.

I will try and tape it (sound) and take pics. (Cuz I figured out my camera.) I will post on it when I get back on Monday night. (Arrrgh!)
