Once upon a time there were two lovely Birthday cards designed, printed and sent on their way by the lovely, essential and incomparably talented Bablylonsister in Planet Houston (an outpost of the Evil Empire.). Bablyonsister signed one of the cards, and then sent both to TayTay in the lovely but cold People's Republic of Massachusetts. (Home base of the Rebel Alliance, "RA".)
TayTay scratched her head and whispered to herself, "Now comrade, how shall we get these two lovely and heartfelt cards into the hands of the other members of the RA?" She pondered and ruminated and slept on the problem. In the morning it hit her, why not send it along geographic lines. Send one card on down the East Coast where many member of the RA can admire it and sign it. The other card will wing it's way across the vast reaches of the Empire and find it's way into the hands of Sandnsea, General in the Rebel Alliance, West Coast division. (Not quite a People's Republic, but not very far off either. One Senator short, sigh. And no, you cannot have mine. He is not a 'loaner' and Whome would kill me. perish the thought.)
TayTay was ever mindful that the Rebel Alliance is difficult to organize, as all loose collections of brilliant, roguish and independent minded people are. (Sigh, there are costs to being Rebels, don't ya know.) So she pondered how to make sure the cards get around the US to the eager potential signees. Hmmm, difficult, very difficult.
How about a thread that says, I got the card, who wants it next? That was just so ingenious and simple and easy to write that TayTay of course muddled it up by excessively intricate writing. (It's a gift, people, a gift I tell you.) This muddling by TayTay has taken an easy solution and complicated it. What to do, what to do?
I have it. Perhaps the people who have the cards now could post that they are ready to send them on and post that they are ready to release the card from the glorious state of XXXXXXX and who should they send it to next. Vektor in California might want to forward it to our glorious sisters (and maybe a brother or two) in another Western state, perhaps the half Rebel half Empire state of Arizona? Then the person in AZ might post online and say, anyone else in AZ want to sign the Kerry card? Yes, off it goes to another location in the Land of Enchantment. No, then the card might go to the glorious and historic and musical state of Mississippi. (Or to the Land of Lincoln.) Recipient posts, I got it, who wants it until everyone who wants to sign, has signed. Then it goes to Senator Kerry who will no doubt be charmed and heartened by it.
Clear? Upshot post this:
Vektor in California got the card. Who else lives west of the Mississippi (or some other dividing line that makes sense.) Vektor then forwards the card. Next person posts same thing, different state.
Clear? Same thing on the East cost, but different states. Clear?
