Boston Visit Thread: (Cuz the other one is too big for dial-up)
So, anyone still need housing or airport pickups?

This is going to be so much fun. (I would pay good money just to be there when WEL and Vektor meet, never mind the actual birthday party with Sen & Mrs. Kerry. )

Let me know if you need anything on this end.

5. Ahm, I think we have at least ten people going.
This is amazing. We may also have some people who can come in for some of the tours but can't do the actual Birthday Party/fundraiser.

We might be looking at a dozen or more of us getting together. (How did this happen so quickly when we spent months trying to get a get-together to work in the summer? The universe works in strange and mysterious ways sometimes.)

I'm not sure that Bosotn will survive this, but it sure is going to be fun.

have rooms reserved at the Park Plaza for Sunday night, 12/11. I'm one of them. I've got a double room reserved, and can probably get a rollaway cot in the room. So we can likely stuff a few Kerrycrats into those rooms for the night, after the party.

Island Blue is staying in the spare room at my place Saturday night. If someone desperately needs a place to stay Saturday night, I've also got a couch that's available.

8. I think we have everyone settled.
No one at my house, but there seems to have been no need. (And I am far from the city, well, in New England terms. LOL!)

I guess we have everyone settled into housing. The next thing to work on is where we go on Sat and if we all meet on Sat or just wait till Sunday. (Travel schedules permitting.)

I can take people around on Sat. Whome had an excellent suggestion of going into Davis Square on Sat. night, cuz it's funkier now than Harvard Square, maybe seeing Jimmy Tingle's show. (Oh dear, I am getting above myself again. I'm sure there are others around who are better qualified to show people around certain places than me. Oh dear.)

This is yet to be thought out, discussed, amended and decided. (And we could split up, I guess, according to whatever our esteemed visitors want to see.)

Any preferences?

9. Now I wish I was coming in a little earlier
I didn't want to overstay my welcome though so I opted for a Saturday afternoon arrival instead of earlier. I just don't want to miss out on any of the fun stuff!

10. We don't know what's going on yet.
If I don't hear then we will be in two groups on Friday. One in Boston and one around Lowell.

Both will be fun, I guarantee it. Then we meet up on Sunday for all day fun! (And cookies at Faneuil Hall.)

12. We don't know yet.
When I hve discussed it wth people here, we seem to have basically come to the conclusion that we want to do whatever our visitors want to do. We can take a trip Sat around the area and then come back North of Boston to sleep and then meet with everyone early on Sunday (10:00 ish or so) for a Boston proper tour. (I think it's capitalized that way. It's not an actual location, it's just a way of referring to the downtown area from North Station to Kenmore Square, more or less.)

What do you want to do. The comedian in Davis Square (down the road from Harvard Square) is a funny political comedian. We could do that.

For my part, I can see Boston any old time. But to see that many Kerrycrats at once is just priceless. I would be content to just sit and talk for 3 days. (Okay, I know we can't do that, but I am so thrilled to see everyone, I don't care what we do.)

I will have Friday-Mon off. Just in case anyone needs anything.

Anything you have heard of that you want to see?

13. I'd like to do something Satuday evening
I'm open to suggestions. Jimmy Tingle's show sounds like fun. I've been hearing the ads for it on AAR for weeks. I used to live in Somerville a few years back, when Davis Square was just starting to get tres hip.
