Daily Editorial Board

Senator John Kerry spoke at Tufts Sunday evening to a crowd of college Democrats from schools around Massachusetts.

The event, "Mass Victory '06 Grassroots Training" was sponsored by the Massachusetts Democratic Party and held in the Crane Room. It was designed to inform students about the importance of grassroots politics.

Kerry spoke about the dangers of political apathy in the 2006 mid-term and local elections.

"You are the grassroots, you are the future of politics," he said. "Your job is now to build indigenous localized organizations where people are beginning to get involved in a way that can sway and move people's opinions."

1. Jeepers, that's one busy guy
Friday: Brain Research Center opening at MIT.
Saturday: Rally in Manchester, stay and kibbutz for awhile with the good NH folks.
Saturday: Meet with good Vermont Dems, rally, kibbutz for a while. (Enjoy fine foliage that is finally here. Sigh!)
Sunday: Meet with Mass Dems in Charlestown and then at Tufts.
Monday: New Jersery GOTV rally for Corzine.

Wow! Stamina, ladies, stamina.

3. He's teasing me!
First MIT, which is only a few blocks from where I work, now Tufts, which is even closer to where I LIVE. Where's he going next? Johnny D's in Davis Square?!!?!?

And me leaving the country for 9 days today....

He'll probably knock at my DOOR and I won't be home!

Sob.

:-)

4. Have a wonderful time!
Check in when you get back. Just have a blast, relax and enjoy yourself. (Oh, and if interesting things happen to be going on there, well, an update or two would be nice. I am not well-traveled at all and always learn something from folks who are.)

Have fun!

6. Thank you, Tay :-)
Although I'll be much more anxious for news from here, of JK's ever-closer march toward Davis Square...

5. he was mentioned on Cspan this morning
The guy who gives the political updates breaks during Washington Journal mentioned he was campaigning for somebody--didn't really pay attention to whom. Maybe the year-long moratorium on mentioning John Kerry in the media is finally lifting. They also showed a newspaper article on yesterday's program which featured a picture of him (the one where he is sitting with Teresa at some recent event and talking with her). The invisible man becoming visible again??
