If you will permit one more Boston thread
May I just ask for posts from those who are coming into Boston for the Birthday Party.

I want a head count, that is all. (I want to make some arrangements for lunch and stuff. Maybe we can eat at either Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market one day or the Union Oyster House or something. I need to know the number for a reservation count if I go for Union Oyster.)

Thanks! (And I thank the everyone else for indulging me in this. I swear there will be so many pics posted from this and info shared it will get us to 70,000 posts.)

I can hardly wait to meet you all.
:hi:

edit
Isn't the Union Oyster House right off Fanieul Hall Marketplace in a little alley? I can't remember the name of the street, but I'm pretty sure I've been there. If it's the place I'm thinking of, it's a great choice. Of course, there are so many wonderful places in Boston.

I can't wait.

4. Yes, I'm coming
I'm staying with Vektor and her friend, so that's another two if I've already been counted.

6. I'll be there.
I am assuming you're talking about on Sunday. (Of course I know the danger of assuming.) My plane is scheduled to arrive on Saturday at 10:12 a.m. in Manchester, so if you're talking about Saturday, maybe not. I'm staying with Rox so whatever she's doing, I'll be there.

All Kerrycrats who will be in Boston on Dec. 11 should check in here. :hi:

9. I guess I'm going after all.
I'm up in the air on the details, but I'll be there.

Anyone have Omar the Tentmaker's addy? (Gonna need something to wear...everything in my closet is 4 sizes too small.) Oh dear. I haven't gone out anywhere in years. I'm a little nervous...feel like a farm girl first time in the big city.

19. With the increased demand for his services, Mr. Omar has moved and
left no forwarding address. Alas, his number has been disconnected. I'm afraid I am going to have to resort to buying off the rack. Sports Authority has some nice camouflage tents, from what I understand...

Just kidding. I probably won't wear camouflage, but will turn invisible when there are cameras around. Hehe.

:P

12. QUESTION:
On Sunday, we will have time before the event to go back to the hotel room and get pretty, yes?

13. I hope so...
Because I wasn't intending to wear the same thing traipsing around Boston that I was going to wear to the par-tay.

15. Yeah, we must get back to rest up for the main event.
We MUST be back at the hotel by 4:00 at a minimum. I want to be downstairs at the hotel watching the comings and going by 5:30 (or earlier.) I was hoping to get everyone together in Boston by around 10:30, tour for a while, have some lunch, maybe tour some more and then have a break. I know from taking past groups around town that the maximum touring time is fairly brief. (And it's winter. I hope the weather is good, but if it is windy, then we just simply are not going to want to be outdoors much. Which is fine. I can compensate.) My intent is to see a few things well, not to see 'everything.' Seeing 'everything' is not possible and gets in the way of seeing a few things well.

Does this fit with what people are expecting? We will pretty much stick with the Freedom Trail and maybe some other stuff that is close to the hotel anyway. Too much touring (espeically if the weather is cold) will exhaust people right before the event they are actually coming to attend. That would be a disaster.

We could do most of our touring on Saturday, too, maybe?

17. That sounds good for Sunday during the day.
Has anything been decided about Saturday night? I'm just trying to get a handle on what to pack because I'm trying to pack as little as possible. We aren't really planning to do anything that night that will require more than jeans or kakais and a sweater are we?

21. Now that's a flat-out 'misleading' statement Vek.
And I think you made it 'with intent.' You no more need spackle than I am an actual blueberry. Good Lord, woman!

Pay this woman no heed. She will be polishing fine silver to reveal beauty that is already there. (Yes, I'm serious.)

We will all sparkle. What with event itself, getting together and all, I think we will all be glowing.

I have a very self-deprecating sense of humor, and have always seen myself in a bit of a dorky, goofball light.

22. DUH! I should have asked for this before.
As time gets closer to the big weekend, I think I might have to send out some 'mass e-mails.' It is simply too time consuming (and inefficient) to keep PMing some stuff, so that the forum doesn't get overloaded with Boston stuff.

Could everyone who is going to Boston PM me with their e-mail addy? I would appreciate it greatly.
