Toledo Blade on Bush Campaign Favors
Part 3 of 3.
A BLADE INVESTIGATION: THE PRESIDENTIAL PIPELINE
Kerry backers still feel sting of losing 2004 presidential contest
New Orleans trial lawyer Calvin Fayard has watched his city rebuild these past four months, but he sees another dangerous tide rising, one that threatens his legal profession. This threat is more subtle - the Bush Administration's encroachment on the rights of plaintiffs and lawyers to file environmental lawsuits against companies.

Part three of a three part series in the Toledo Blade that was carried in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Sunday and Monday covered large campaign contributions to the bush* campaign. Today "No Rewards for donors on Kerry-Edwards side".

1. No, but it sounds interesting and oh so true!
I was in Atlanta some time back, and they had a front page article about the founder of Home Depot. He has made a ton of contributions to Republicans all over Georgia as well as doing major * fundraisers in his swanky home in Buckhead. They didn't mention it in the article but I still remember a provision in a bill regarding ceiling fans imported from China that Home Depot sells. Congress had to fix a trade law last fall (this was before the election) and put in there to eliminate the tariff on those ceiling fans. This, of course, will not result in a lower price -- Home Depot will charge the same price, and pocket the rest. That's a hell of a lot more money than whatever contributions the Home Depot pres. gave or raised for *. In that sense, * is a cheap date for corporate America -- it's the best money they can spend.
