2. This thread is very interesting and very disturbing.
What really frightens me is the possibility that Osama was an invented Boogyman. If the real Osama died right after the statement claiming he had nothing to do with 911, then who was responsible? I've always thought there was a financial motivation to the attacks and that Bin Laden (if indeed it was him) was only a pawn. These attacks have always held the "feel" of a shadowy presence to me; a figure we could not see who stood to gain and who helped to co-ordinate the attacks. I've always felt that we will never see Osama Bin Laden captured alive.

Bin Laden certainly seems to be Bush's best friend. Every time Bush is in trouble, it is OBL to the rescue.

All I can say is: Bush is even stupider than I thought he was to actually admit this. I'm starting to think he hasn't a clue. For a while I believed he was more evil than clueless. Now I'm convinced he's dumber than a stick and that his handlers are the real evil bastards. Ever wonder who really is pulling the strings behind Bush. Most of us have speculated Cheney, but what if Cheney is only a "middleman." Without sounding like a conspiracy nut, let me ask one question: who is really running the Bush Administration? And are they even Americans?

Pretty frightening shit.

Okay, one more question: who REALLY wanted Bush to take out Iraq...and WHY?

5. What's scary is who rescued Harkin oil?
Also, wasn't the Bush TANG friend a BCCI person. What if it is Islamic terrorist, where Bin Laden, was their Bush - a charismatic front man. Eliminating one of the few secular states in the area.

6. Recent Kerry comments on OSAMA tape interesting too. . .
<snip>

Senator Kerry shared his views on the last election. He admitted he had made some mistakes, particularly not spending enough money to push back against the lies they were telling about his military record. Still, he said that he was winning that election with just a few days to go when a recording of Osama surfaced. The media talked about nothing else for several days, and it flattened out his momentum. He felt that it cost him just enough votes in Ohio to save Karl Rove from looking like the poor strategist he really is. I have my own theory about Ohio, but then I have a theory about Florida too, if Al Gore ever wants to hear it.

8. and if OBL didn't attack us,
who did? Maybe the MIHOP crowd is onto something. If he loves to take credit for stuff he does, and denied the 9/11 attack...???? Something's fishy.

Oh, for a media that would stand up to power!

4. This is what really gets me
And Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, who steadfastly refused to defend Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth when he ran Bush’s campaign, now calls them “heroes” who played a crucial role in vanquishing Kerry.

FU Melhman - I cannot stand that guy.

Yeah - if the swift boat liars were heros, than why are we in the mess we are in today?????
If it wasn't for them, Kerry just might be in the WH, he might have had enough votes to overcome the fraud.

7. Mehlman learned well from Rove -- now I just wish somebody would
nail down the money trail between Bush and Swifties.

Repasting the snip of Kerry's comments I posted above:

9. It really wasn't Kerry's place to stop the spin about the swifties.
Bsh didn't have to stop the spin about his being awol in the guard. Or about anything else.
Nope - Limbo, O'Reilly, Hannity, all of Fake news did it for him.

What was missing were our talking heads. And the democrats.
Kerry was on the campaign trail. His job was to get his message out. To be positive, optimistic about what the future would have looked like under a Kerry presidency. No one was willing to do the dirty work for him. Even with OBL appearing at the most inopportune times, the dems should have been all over the place fighting for Kerry. But they weren't. That's what hurt Kerry imho (along with diebold!)

10. I agree 110% - Major Dems should have been all over this
Edited on Tue Feb-28-06 06:38 PM by emulatorloo
and a few were (Harkin, Cleland, Wes Clark and a few more) while others just sat on their hands.

Likewise Dems should have been shouting 24/7 "WHY IS OSAMA STILL AT LARGE?"

11. Absolutely right. The party and our talking heads did very little to
help him out. He can honestly say that the votes he got he earned with his own hard work. The other Dem's did very little- including the Clintons.

12. It's actually a lie too!
Now I have to go find the article that said this, but OBL and Al Qaeda *wanted* Bush to stay as Prez because he was the best recruiting tool they ever had. They didn't want to change Prez's because they thought Kerry might actually get things right and then the recruitment would fizzle out.

Sigh! A lot of people saw through this, but not enough.
