Media Matters on Tweety (again) bad-mouthing JK
Yes, he's at it again. He's openly dissed JK, as if any of us needed any more reason to hate this guy. He argues with Bob Shrum about whether JK is just as dishonest as *. Shrum does come to the defense--which might make it worth watching the video: http://mediamatters.org/items/200603020003

I only caught this because I was visiting Media Matters' site--I am still boycotting this show!

1. I'm still boycotting it too.
Matthews has gone too far this time. He couldn't put together a logical argument and to try to stretch this issue to John Kerry made him look pretty lame. My guess is that he is pissed over Kerry's KOS post "Real Hardball." And the subsequent boycott. Too bad Tweety.

Media Matters has contact info for MSNBC and the Hardball show. Good! Let's use it and give them an earful!

7. It may well be the KOS post
He may feel he was unfairly singled out - as there were far worse people - including most of Fox and his colleague, Joe Scarborough. I think Kerry singled him out on purpose because the others are so obviously partisan that they have begun to carry almost no weight - in that they convince only the converted.

Tweedy is seen as less partisan than these guys - but if you look at it, he seems to always let Bush off the hook. Tweety had a choice. He had the potential to admit that what he had said was unfair and address Kerry's point that if Bush had seriously gone after Bin Laden -we wouldn't have the tapes.

This new attack is strange - Tweedy is conflating changing your position with lying - then pushing the RW theme that Kerry always changed his positions. This is pretty toxic. It would be great if Kerry called him on it at sometime.

8. That's the GOP MSM climate.
When so-called objective media personalities begin to spin the facts in favor of one party, the environment is bound to become toxic. People like Tweety and Couric posture themselves as being fair and balanced, but in reality they are exactly as they appear in the clips: biased and bitter.

3. Absurd is a good word for it - especially as his example
even if it were totally true didn't work. Kerry was saying what he would have done - as he is not Kerry he can't say it was a lie. It actually was a very convoluted question. A comparable example would be if Kerry said he did (or didn't) do something that he provably didn't (or did) do. I think the Globe has been looking for an example of that his entire career. (And whether he was ill is a pathetic example - and I believe tha only one in his career.)

4. Matthews is a WUSS
He is such a joke. I'd like him to say that crap face to face with Kerry. Funny everytime Wuss actually has interviewed JK, he is like taken at awe by Kerry's answers, and he can't nail him on anything, why because JK don't stand for crap talk like comes out of Wuss's mouth daily, and Wuss is to damn chicken to pull his ridiculousness on Kerry because JK would make him look like the fool he is.

I will never watch his show again unless I am forced to only because his guest is John Kerry, that would be the only reason I would ever watch it again, no ifs ands or buts.

6. Stunning how Matthews proves once again the media conspiracy
Republicans: very bad

But . . . Dems aren't any better either!!

He's comparing campaign statements vs. REAL ACTIONS by an incompetent president. Telegram for Tweety: Kerry LOST the election and is NOT president, so pick on those with power, you big idiot!!!!!!

I mean, that goes against our cultural values -- kicking someone when they're down, even when they lost with grace. Kerry ATTENDED the inaugural and was a really good sport. He's never said anything EVER that showed any sign of sore loser. He's only talked tough about policy. When are good old fashioned American values going to come back?

10. He might as well just go over to FOX
But of course being on MSNBC, he can pretend to be a liberal, or at least fair and balanced.

Like someone above said, he really shows his cowardice when interviewing JK face to face. He's all sweetness and light. He has no principles--just kisses up to whomever or whatever gives him a good show.
