as well, I am not talking currently but I am talking like say Clinton appointed him or say Gore actually got inguagrated. Attorney General John Kerry I think would be a great AG right up there with RFK.
I am surprised Kerry was never AG in a democratic adminstration. He would been good at it, I am not being critical of Clinton for choosing Reno here and I am glad we had Kerry in the senate but I think he would have made a great AG.

6. True that
Sometimes, though, it seems like it's his destiny to become President. It's like that was what he was born to do.

7. It does feel like that
Perhaps fate will intervene. Hell I like him a lot, any time someone says he was just an ABB candidiate, I chuckle, someone I know said, Kerry was the right candidiate for all the wrong reasons, which means I guess that he wasn't just good becaues he was electable but because he fought hard on the issues too.

9. He's just so
damned intelligent and thoughtful. I can really tell. Maybe he doesn't have that certain telegenic charisma others like Clinton have, but I feel like I could trust him, you know?

10. I really know what you mean
He's a true American hero to me, has done it all, well except become president. He really is a smart and class act guy.

2. i think he wanted to stay involved on foreign policy issues
and that's one of the reasons he stayed in the Senate for so long.

but i do agree that he would make a great AG. he was a great prosecutor in boston.

start with his serving in vietnam, then go on to his work as a prosecutor doing all the things you mentioned, then move on to his work in the Senate and his investigations with the BCCI, iran contra, and vietnam mia. include his great record on environment.

show him for the fighter he was and continues to be. not just in vietnam, but in his entire life, especially in public office.

13. nope sorry
if not a Senator, he must be President.

i don't think any other job was meant for him. He's too strong for just AG.

that's just my opinion though :o

15. Alternate history thought:
If Kerry had been Clinton's AG, would Feds have stormed the Branch Davidian compound? If Waco hadn't happened, likely the OKC bombing wouldn't have happened either. Hmm.

16. maybe not
Edited on Mon Dec-13-04 03:44 PM by JohnKleeb
but what I was thinking about is that Kerry is a trained lawyer, a fact I often forgot in the primaries because Edwards made his career as one but Kerry was a good lawyer too not the same type as Edwards but a damn good investigator plus I think he would have been one than Reno, no offense to her. Oh and if Waco doesn't happen, I don't think OKC bombing happens for sure, one of McVeigh's motivations for the bombing was what happened at Waco, I saw a 60 mins thing in philosophy and they interviewed him plus showed footage of him at Waco being interviewed by a small TV station, he was obscure at the time of course.
