Every little bit counts! Or another thumbs up for Senator Kerry.

Things are slow here so I thought I would relay a positive encounter from yesterday in my conservative neck of the woods in PA. I was picking up my cat from the groomers at Petsmart, when the groomer noticed my Kerry 2008 button on my handbag and asked where I got the button from, mentioning that she really likes him. She took a closer look and noticed the 2008 and asked if he was running in 2008? So, I said he is considering it, adding my opinion that I hoped he would. She then stated very enthusiastically that she hoped he did too, because she really, really, would like to see run again.
So, there you have it. Just a little recognition, but it felt good after all the Gore hype going on.

2. Well, it is not an election year for President and most people have
removed their support stickers except for local elections. I still see bumper stickers in my travels and the interesting thing is many times they are newer ones with just Kerry's name on them. I still display mine proudly.

3. These kinds of things always make the day for me.
So many people still want President Kerry. I've had a few encounters like this myself. Sometimes I brace for the negative because I'm used to people at DU. And then I'm surprised (happily) to hear words of support.

4. What is nice is these are non-solicited comments and I have never

had or noticed a negative comment or gesture. Oh, except for, like you said, here at DU or similar blog sites.

Something else about my encounter, the comments came from an "average" American. Not the buzz crowd in Washington or the aligned political pundits.

7. You can tell these stories any day, busy or not!
It helps us remember that DU does not equal the American public. An also that Washington pundits do not represent the American public, either! Like the ones who have Hillary already at the Democratic Convention with her acceptance speech!

8. Exactly, ordinary people who don't listen to the buzz crowd in DC!
The buzz crowd in DC never wanted Kerry to run in the first place. But it's your average American who casts the votes. And they still think very highly of JK from what I see.

10. Agreed ....It's one thing that's so annoying about living here
The party people are still angry about 2004 (with out good reason I think)

9. I'm seeing MORE Kerry bumper stickers, and MORE Bush-bashing ones
And MORE recent comments from prior doubters of Kerry (AFTER his concession)...coming 'round to 'well, I DID sort of like him before. Perhaps..."

More exposure, more speeches, JK! They're "hearing" you...they're looking for hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. Be THAT 'light,' JK...NOW...and for at least 8 years as Prez!
