The real coward
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 02:38 PM by globalvillage
By Chris Satullo
Inquirer Columnist
The only bullets Karl Rove has ever dodged were legal.

Last week, after learning he would avoid indictment for his role in the sliming of an Iraq war critic, Rove had this to say about two men who risked death in service of country, John Murtha and John Kerry:

"Like too many Democrats, it strikes me that they are ready to give the green light to go to war, but when it gets tough and when it gets difficult they fall back on that party's pattern of cutting and running."

In any sentence with the names Kerry, Murtha and Rove, there is only one possible coward. It's not the Pennsylvania congressman nor the Massachusetts senator.

1. Great read
I like this part:

You want to call Murtha and Kerry "cut and run" cowards? Go to the Hill and do it to their face. Don't do it only at Republican fund-raisers.

There are a lot of idiots on the internet that practice Rove's cowardness, and none of them would ever have the balls to say it to Kerry's face.

2. so true!
Rove should say it to Kerry's and Murtha's faces. I'd love to see that! But no, he can only go to highly partisan audiences where he's sure to be playing to a friendly crowd.

5. Actually I saw how really brave these people were in NJ
Kerry came to Morristown to support Corzine in Sept, 2005. The location he spoke at was a local resteraunt with a large patio area outside - where he spoke. Next to the patio area was a large parking lot and in the parking lot a group of about 5 Republican protesters had signs.

While the local candidates were speaking, Kerry was told by an EMS person, who asked to take a photo, a local woman had fainted and was in an ambulance. As there was time before he was to speak, he instead quickly and purposely walked over the ambulance. The protestors seeing Kerry walking towards them RAN to the back of the parking lot. They apparently were afraid that he was coming to confront them.

6. I heard about
him going to the ambulance, but I hadn't heard about what the protesters did. Nothing but a bunch of cowards.

3. Wow! That's telling it like it is!
That is a great line, "In any sentence with the names Kerry, Murtha and Rove, there is only one possible coward. It's not the Pennsylvania congressman nor the Massachusetts senator."

You should post it in GDP!

8. This is a treasure for what it says about Kerry and Murtha.
It hits Rove where he should be hit-but not personally. (Although, I would have like an all out negative as far as Rove is concerned).

9. I posted it at freedoms fire
With David Wade's quote from the other day and Murtha's from today.
I also e-mailed the writer. It's a great editorial, isn't it?
