2. Should ask about AZ friends too
I don't exactly know where all those wildfires are, but they're usually easier to get out of the way of than a flood.

3. I was just watching
the report about the Trenton/PA area being threated by the Delaware River. Looks like people in that area have a long night ahead of them.

4. Please do check in from Eastern PA and from AZ
The flooding is no joke. We ae still recovering from the floods of a month and a half ago and my sympathies to anyone affected.

I hope the wildfires are put out soon. I heard 80,000 acres have already burned. Everyone in AZ okay?

5. Not that it's as bad, but I had to drive on totally flooded roads today
here in coastal Virginia. I think the rains are up and down the Mid-Atlantic, no? Luckily it hasn't rained today, so I don't think it will get worse.

9. D.C. Under State Of Emergency
<snip>
Several Smithsonian museums were also closed because of storm-related damage, along with the Justice Department, the Internal Revenue Service, the National Archives and the Commerce Department.

The National Archives building will remain closed through July 3 due to flooding and power outages but officials plan to be ready for the traditional July 4 celebration on the building's steps. All Archives materials are dry, but officials are concerned about humidity in the stack areas.

The main IRS building on Constitution Avenue will remain closed through Friday due to outages and flooding.

The National Museum of American History and the National Museum of Natural History will also be closed. The National Zoo is opening for pedestrians but is closed to cars in its parking lots. The National Gallery of Art was closed Tuesday and will be closed again Wednesday.

The main department of the Justice Building will be closed for the remainder of the week.

Hmm, imagine that.

I wonder why there isn't more coverage of the DC flooding on the teevee.

or the Archives. Not lives, but still, irreplacable.

14. I agree
Somewhere in New Orleans, there is/was the marriage records, and probably French military records, of my first ancestors that came here. It's nothing at all compared to the deaths and trauma to the Gulf people, but I do hope those records survived and other historic items. So yeah, I hope everything is safe in DC too.

10. I wasn't sure how bad it was everywhere
I had seen DC, and heard blips about VA and NH. The 46 county state of emergency kind of caught my attention!! I'm kind of getting nervous, I think I'm the only one who hasn't had a weather emergency recently. Are we next?? :scared:

7. Thanks for asking. I'm ok. Family in NE area have checked in
and besides a flooded basement and possible damage to a home in the Poconos, they are all safe.
